Star Sign Makeup Look Series | Cancer #3.

After having all this spare time on my hands I’ve been playing around with makeup a lot more and I had forgotten just how much I really enjoy doing it. I have so many ideas for looks, not only for this series but another series in the making as well as random looks, so you better be ready for a whole load of posts coming your way in the next couple of weeks. For today’s post I will be sharing the makeup look for the Star Sign of Cancer. I was actually really pleased with how this look turned out, even though there were a few things that seemed to go wrong but I’ll talk you through that later in the post. So .. How did I come up with the idea for this look?

When I was looking through the background behind this star sign it said that the related colours were pale, more specifically cream and white. I was wondering how on earth I could create a half decent look with those colours. However, the further I looked into the sign it said that Moonstone and Pearl were the related stones, so I wanted to make it extra shimmery to reflect this. To be honest, I just winged it when it came to picking the main colour for the look as I thought this blue was ‘pale” and would look really nice with the cut crease shade I chose. Water Lilies, Holly and Heather were among the flowers related to the sign. This gave me the idea to add a pop of pink on the lash line and this finished off the look nicely. As with all of the looks in this series, I added the star sign in, this time with a yellow liquid liner … however this went wrong a couple of times and in the end it just ended up looking like the peace sign or something.

So, let me talk you through the look I created. I didn’t really have any sort of idea on the look that I was going for (aside from the sort of colour scheme of course), I just sort of went for it. I took Bobbing Along and blended it through my crease, whilst further blending it out with Paradise to make it more of a seamless blend between the colours I had and was going to use. I then cut the crease with the Revolution Halo Cut Crease Canvas and packed on Custard Cream over it. I also took the shade to highlight my inner corner and my brow bone because there isn’t another shimmery shadow in the palette. I then attempted to do the Cancer Sign with the NYX Yellow Liquid Liner and it didn’t quite look how I expected or wanted too but it did the job. I added some cheapy eBay lashes and smoked out the lower lash line with a mix of Make them Wink and Cosmopolitan. To finish off I added some eBay lashes and the Benefit They’re Real Mascara and that’s the look done.
