THE PMD CLEAN CLEANSING DEVICE REVIEW || gifted.

Hey there and welcome to a new post on my blog. Today’s post is going to be a review of the PMD Clean skincare cleansing device from PMD Beauty. PMD Beauty kindly reached out to me and asked if I would like to try their PMD Clean and kindly gifted it to me, but all thoughts are my own and are honest.

Firstly, let me introduce you to PMD Beauty as a brand. PMD Beauty is the home to a number ‘smart skincare tools’ which was established over a decade ago. Some of the items they sell include the Personal Microderm for at home Microdermabrasion, the Clean PRO which works similarly to the Clean but has a choice of different plates include Gold, Rose Quartz and others, the PMD Kiss which gives lip filler a run for it’s money, a Skincare Range, Mens products and much, much more. Check out their website here.

PMD have a Brilliant Confidence campaign that ‘gives back’ as they donate a portion of the profits from each and every sale to a number of non-profit organisations. You can read more about them here.

What is the PMD Clean?

The PMD Clean is a smart facial cleansing device. With over 7,000 vibrations per minute, our SonicGlow™ technology not only ensures a deep cleanse, but operates at a perfect frequency to lift, firm, and tone problem areas for a more youthful appearance.’ – PMDbeauty.com

So you may be looking at the images on this post and wondering ‘what actually is it?’ so the PMD Clean is a facial cleansing device with SonicGlow technology that is designed to give the skin a deep cleanse, to minimize the appearance of blackheads, reduce oil congestion as well as lifting, firming and toning the skin at the same time. I’ve seen so many other Bloggers and YouTubers raving about this device as well as many other similar alternatives so when PMD Beauty reached out to me, I was intrigued to see if it added to my skincare routine or if it was an unnecessary faff.
I’ve only ever used one other skincare device before and that was the Boots No7 Cleansing Brush, but I did find that it was quite harsh on the skin and did make my skin feel quite sore sometimes after using it. However, as this one is made of soft silicone bristles and works with the pulses of the vibration to give that deep clean, I had high hopes that it would be more gentle on my skin.

The features of this device are … it has SonicGlow technology which is what helps to break down all the dirt and excess oil on and in the skin, it’s waterproof so you can use it in the shower or bath, it’s made with Ultra Hygienic Silicone which is anti-bacterial, hypoallergenic and waterproof which is a bonus because you’ll never need to replace the brush head. As well as all of this, it also has 4 different settings of different vibrational frequencies meaning you can find the right mode for your skin type. One side of the brush head is for cleansing the skin, which you use the first two modes for and the other two modes are to use with the anti-aging side, which you use with your post-cleanse skincare products including moisturisers and serums etc. A cute little added extra is that it comes with a little stand which makes it much easier to store and leave standing up in the bathroom/ shower.

How do you use it?

The Clean is quick and easy to use, just like any other cleanse you wet your face and wet the tool too. Place your cleanser onto the brush head and then choose your mode. You then move the brush head in circular motions all over your face and it basically does all the work for you. Rinse your face and pat dry. Then place your skincare products onto the anti-aging side of the brush, choose your mode, blend in and you’re done. It’s super easy to use, you can spend as much time cleansing as you think you need and you can spend longer on your problem areas. It’s small enough to really get into the sides of the nose, under the eyes and around the chin to give those areas a deep clean too. As it’s so gentle on the skin it can be used daily, I personally use it twice a day; once in the morning and then again before bed. I like to use this in the shower as it takes no time at all and really makes my skin feel lovely and fresh before makeup application.

I haven’t personally used it, but I have heard that it’s very comparable to the Foreo Luna 2 Facial Cleansing Brush but with those retailing between £99 and £169, this one is a cheaper alternative at £89. It’s also available with a number of retailers, including Look Fantastic who always have some sort of discount code available, so you may be able to grab yourself a bargain. If you order directly through the PMD Beauty you do get 1 year warranty meaning you are covered and you get a 30-day satisfaction guarantee meaning you’ll receive a full refund if you’re not 100% satisfied so to me it just seems the perfect time to try it because you’ve got nothing to lose.

The battery life of the PMD Clean can last up to two months using it once a day and this is powered by just one AA Battery.

What’s the verdict?

So, what do I actually think of the PMD Clean? I have been using this for just over a month now, I use it twice a day and feel like it’s given me enough time to make a comment on the device as a whole. I have suffered with acne for years now and in the last year or so, I’ve seen a drastic change in my skin and it’s not as bad. Until the start of lock down as my skin had been giving me trouble again, until maybe a couple of months ago. After feeling like I had finally aced my skincare routine and cleared up my skin again, I was slightly nervous to start introducing anything else. But as we were still in lock down, I thought I would try it out because if I broke out again, no one would have to see me haha.
As I’ve said, I’ve only ever used the No7 cleansing brush, so before I first used this I was a little nervous that it would cause the same irritation and make my skin sore. However, straight away I could feel just how gentle it was and all I could feel was the vibration / pulses. After every use my skin just feels so fresh and squeaky clean … it feels like I’m having not one, but two facials every single day. I’m so pleased with this little device, my make up is applying so much nicer to my skin, my skins texture has improved a whole lot as well, it just feel so smooth and refreshed. I still get the odd breakout, but I wouldn’t expect something to completely stop them as they’re normal and I do wear makeup quite a bit too. I can’t stop raving about this and I really couldn’t recommend it enough. I’m very intrigued to try out some more of their products in the future, so if you would like to see me try out one of their other devices or products, please let me know in the comments below.

I’ve read reviews for various cleansers like this and love the idea, but always been too nervous to properly consider it. But having read this one, it’s definitely going to be something I’m going to look into further. I love the fact that it’s so gentle and can get into the more problematic areas as well. Thanks for the great review!

This is such an amazing review! I’ve never tried the face brush cleaner things but I’ve always wanted to but I’m sceptical about them. I 100% feel like purchasing one of them!

Oo this looks like a really cute product! I am currently testing out the PMD personal microderm to see how it would help my skin, so seeing another product from their range is really helpful. Thank you for sharing, I love the colour!
