GRWM aka Me Trying To Feel Better In Lockdown. | gifted

Sometimes getting up and showering or putting some makeup on or putting on clean clothes can make the world of difference to how you’re feeling and give you that pep in your step to be more productive. So, I decided to put this to the test by setting my alarm that little bit earlier, doing my skincare routine (properly not half-arsed like I may have been doing for the last couple of weeks), putting on some makeup for the first time in 2021 and trying on some new clothes to feel fresh and ready to face the day.

I’ve always been on my game when it comes to skincare, especially after I finally got rid of my acne (for the most part anyway) but I’m not going to lie, I’ve been slacking recently; even more so while I was ill this month. I found myself using my trust PMD with any cleanser that I grabbed first, popping some moisturiser on and that was the extent of my ‘routine’. This is sort of what got me wanting to do this post, because I was excited to use a lot of my new products from the LookFantastic Advent Calendar and January’s Glossybox. I’ve been using the ESPA Moisturiser on and off for like a year, a year and a half maybe and I always love how it makes my skin feel; it’s so light and sinks into the skin well so it’s a perfect product to use before makeup. My favourite new find has to be the Omorovicza Silver Skin Saviour which is a serum mask kinda thing and it’s really comparable to the ESPA Overnight Hydration Therapy, the one I always bang on about. I’ve been using this before bed and leaving it on until the morning and my skin has been loving me for it; especially my dry under eyes thanks to the cold whether. The Mudmasky Eye Mask is still very new to me after only using it 2-3 times, but so far so good; although I’m sure the results are thanks to the Omorovicza mask too!! If anyone has any recommendations for lip mask, I would love to hear them!

  • Omorovicza Silver Skin Savour

Today’s makeup look is basically an updated everyday makeup look that I had been doing in the last quarter of last year; just with a little shimmer on the lids because that always makes me feel that bit more glam. I’ve been going for more of a bronzey look due to it being super cold recently and I’m looking a little pale but a cream bronzer always does the trick with out making you look overly orange but more sun kissed as if you’re on the beach abroad not in your house lol. The eye makeup doesn’t look as pigmented as it did in person but it was my first time using the LA Splash palette and I was pleasantly surprised at the colour pay off. I’ve also really been loving gloss recently especially this Fu$$y and Boldly Bear combo!

Base:

I didn’t do anything crazy for the base but I wanted to get some use out of some of my all time favourite products that I hadn’t reached for in a while. I just focused on the bronzer to stop myself looking so pasty and added this gorgeous highlight from Revolution that has pink reflects init; something different to an everyday product, but I love the way it looks when the light hits it.

  • NYX Angel Veil Primer
  • Primark Perfect Finish Foundation in Nude
  • Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer in C4
  • W7 Makeup and Glow Bronzing Base
  • Laura Mercier Loose Powder
  • Revolution Bronze Reloaded in Take a Vacation
  • Revolution Vivid Baked Highlighter in Peach Lights
  • Florence by Mills Zero Chill Face Mist

Brows:

Yep, this step of my makeup routine still hasn’t change. Uber Glam or Everyday, Formal dress code or popping to the shops the brow routine stays the same. I feel like I’ve finally cracked the brow look that suits me and the routine that works best for me and that includes my trusty benefit brow products. I have the whole benefit brow product collection but my go-to has been Goof Proof and Gimme Brow. They don’t look as natural or carefree as they used to (mainly because lock down brows are taking over) but I’m kinda liking the grown out brows at the mo.

  • Benefit Gimme Brow in 4

Eyes:

I wasn’t going to go all out with the eye makeup and lashes but I wanted to do a bit more than just some bronzer in the crease. So, I decided to use the LA Splash Magic palette for the first time as it has neutral colours but some shimmers too. I built up Arogonite into the crease and blended it out with Sunstone. I was going to cut the crease, but I decided to just pop some of Rose Quartz on the lid and it gave it a nice pop of shimmer.

  • P.Louise Base in Rumour 2
  • LA Splash Magic Eye Palette
  • Anastasia Lash Brag Mascara

Lips:

Last, but not least, arguably my favourite part of my makeup routine, the products that finish off the look, it’s time for the lips. I’ve always been a warm, matte nude kinda gal, but recently gloss has been a go-to for me. I’ve had this Fenty Gloss Bomb for months now and I originally bought it because everyone and there mother was raving about it, but particularly because Syd (from SYDANDELL) mentioned it so many times that I caved and bought it. This one is a stunning pinky nude with shimmer in it and compliments Boldly Bear, which is a darker nude, perfectly and it’s quite pigmented for a gloss too!

  • Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fu$$y

Katch Me Cream St Moriz Oversized Sweatshirt - Briana
Katch Me Grey Teddy Co-Ord Set - Dasha
White Reflective Panel Joggers with Blue Stripe no.2

*please note these clothing items have been kindly gifted to me by Katch Me!*

As well as doing my skincare, makeup and getting ready for the day, another thing I love is ordering and trying on new clothes so I thought I would share a little haul with you. These items have been gifted to me but the opinions are my own and for reference to how the items fit, each item is a size 12 which is the size I always wear.

St Moriz Jumper:

First up, for my little clothing haul, I picked out this Cream St Moriz Jumper. I have way to mean jumpers in my wardrobe, but there’s just something about destination printed jumpers that I love. When we’re actually aloud out, you’ll always catch me in jeans or joggers and an oversized jumper. This one is super soft inside and fits a little oversized. I would suggest sizing down in their jumpers/hoodies to fit perfectly, or sizing up for an even more oversized fit. I’m actually blown away at the quality of this, it’s not too thick, but great for those days where it’s a little warm for a coat, but too cold to go without something to take off the chill.

Teddy Co-ord:

I’ve been crushing over these teddy sets of a while as they seem to be everywhere at the moment. We all know just how much I love the colours Grey, especially when it comes to clothes so I was excited to get this one. It’s a really comfy little set, perfect for chilling at home when you can’t decide what to wear and want to be comfy. Not only do they do this Grey shorts set, they also have sets with trousers and longer sleeves, great for all the cold whether we’re having at the moment. I love a good lounge wear set and Katch Me have lots of cool styles on their site which I recommend checking out.

Reflective Panel Joggers:

How cool are these Joggers though? Very 80’s. I saw these on the Katch Me website and I couldn’t just leave them there; I had to have them. These would be perfect for a festival, although they would probably get ruined if it’s muddy. These are a little see through though, just a heads up. They have a number of different styles of joggers including different colour ways of these ones which you can find here.

Also, please just remember you don’t have to be productive; there’s gonna be days where you want to sleep in till late, lounge around in ya PJs and watch some Netflix but that is OK! Other days you’ll be productive, other days you might only go for a walk but there is no right or wrong way to deal with these tough times we’re in!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post, I hope you’re all doing okay and I will see you soon with a new post!
