Testing New Revolution Skincare inc Makeup Removers.

I don’t get excited about new launches very often, but when it comes to Revolution, I’m there as soon as it drops. Revolution Skincare have recently dropped their new makeup removers and cleansers line and I decided to pick a couple of bits up, including their new eye cream as well. I absolutely love their Hydrating Gel-Cream, so I had such high hopes for this collection. BUT, what did I think?

Firstly, just how cute is this packaging though? It’s super minimalistic, but I’m loving the Grey + Pink and I think so many others will too. When I first saw their announcement over on Instagram, I was getting all sorts of Glossier vibes from the collection and after reading through the comments and watching / reading other reviews on this collection, I can see many others are seeing this too.

As always with Revolution products, this range is very affordable and each product is no more than £10 – what a bargain!! Especially as you could possible get a 3 for 2 or some other deal on Superdrug or something … you could end up with a very good deal. I also wanted to touch on the fact that this collection is vegan and cruelty free, which makes it a usable product for everyone and encouraged me even more so to buy it. I feel like cruelty and vegan products should be standard nowadays, but sadly it’s not.

Let’s talk about the actual products now. First up is the Cleansing Jelly. I personally prefer more of Jelly Cleanser as opposed to a milk, because I feel as though they’re giving the skin more of a deep clean, as it lathers up. My first impressions of this cleanser is that it smells incredible, it has mixture of Blueberry and Goji Berry extract which makes it feel very fresh. It lathers up really nicely and makes your skin feel squeaky clean. I personally cleanse with the jelly first and then exfoliate afterwards for an even deeper clean, but I decided I have too many exfoliators in my collection to need to purchase one from this collection. After the cleanse, my skin felt smooth and refreshed, without that stiff, dry feeling that some cleansers can cause.

I’m such a sucker for a good eye cream due to getting quite dry skin around my eyes. I’m constantly trying out new ones and have only really found two faves so far and they’re the Soap & Glory Puffy Eye Attack and the Enviro Skin EssentiA Vita-Peptide Eye Gel. I decided to pick up the Toning Boost Firming Bakuchiol Eye Cream as it’s said to brighten the under eye area as well as helping to reduce any fine lines and wrinkles. The ingredients also include Grape Seed Oil, Shea and Cocoa Seed Butter which are said to all help with hydrating the under eye area. I’ve been using this cream for around a week now and I can definitely feel a difference. I don’t seem to suffer with dark circles or puffy under eyes, but my eye area does feel much more hydrated. I’m excited to see the results over the next few weeks.

The last product I picked up from this collection is the Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. I’m always very good with removing my face makeup thoroughly but I have been know to be quite lazy when removing eye makeup in the past. I have quite sensitive eyes so rubbing my eyes with micellar water or something can irritate … especially if I have quite a lot of makeup on. I just squeeze a small amount onto a cotton pad and hold it against my eyes for about 10 seconds, gently rub in circular motions and then it’s pretty much gone. It feels really hydrating and refreshing on the eyes after having makeup on all day; especially if lashes were involved. The ingredients include Peach Kernal Oil and Cucumber Extract, which is said to help the break down of the makeup. I do like that it’s more of a gel / cream compared to a liquid as it feels as though it coats the lashes better and dissolves the products quicker.

So, what’s the verdict? Overall, I am very pleased with the products I tried out from this collection. I personally feel like you can’t go too wrong with a jelly cleanser, but I did really like it and the way it made my skin feel. All of the products and packaging are very good quality and really affordable, which kind of goes without saying with Revolution Beauty. I’m very intrigued to try their makeup remover paste as well so I may have to make another purchase soon. I would really recommend, not only these new product releases, but Revolution Skincare in general. I’m such a fan of their skincare as I’ve been using their Essence Sprays and Gel Creme Moisturiser as they do such a great job at keeping the skin hydrated and fresh, without the need to break the bank.
