What’s In My Makeup Bag ATM? || SS20.

A couple of years back I shared a ‘what’s in my makeup bag?’ post but since then I haven’t really had a go-to routine with specific products. However, recently my makeup buying obsession has gone up a notch, so I thought it was time to have a routine and get using any neglected products of mine. This way I can clear out my makeup collection, without there being any waste, in order to keep growing it. After a while of using this routine, I thought I would do an update version and share my current makeup bag contents.

I always keep an everyday moisturiser in my makeup bag just for convenience and the one I’ve been using recently is the Environ Skin EssentiA AVST 1. I really like this moisturiser as it’s lightweight and sinks into the skin quickly ready for makeup applications. The only downfall is that it isn’t an SPF and I sometimes forget to apply it … I should really put one in my bag, but if I do remember to use one, I use RAD also from Environ.

Next up is Primer. I never go a day without using some sort of primer, whether it be a spray or cream, it just helps the base makeup to apply and look it’s best, as well as lasting all day. I’ve been using the MUA PRO Base Banana Blur which is a mattifying primer and I just apply this to my t-zone to avoid it becoming oily throughout the day.

I usually opt for more of a natural finish when it comes to my base to give me more of a glow and make it more lightweight on the skin. So I’ve been using the NYX Bare with Me Tinted Moisturiser. Considering it’s a tinted moisturiser, it actually has pretty good coverage and it gives a natural glowy finish – exactly what I want for everyday.

The concealer that I always use and am still very much loving is the Revolution Conceal & Hydrate. I love how creamy and full coverage this concealer is – it blends so nicely and doesn’t give me creases under my eyes … like a lot of other concealers seem to do. This could also be helped by the setting powder I use and that is the iconic Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder.

Time to bronze up the face – I’ve been using the Revolution Chocolate Heart Shimmer Bronzer, which came in the iHeartRevolution chocolate heart Christmas gift set. Although it says it’s a ‘shimmer’ bronzer, it doesn’t seem to give that shimmery/ glitter look on the skin. It also is a really nice warm shade and doesn’t give that orange look. I have too many bronzers in my collection at the moment, but I’ve been getting a helluva lot of use out of this one in recent months.

Now, we can’t forget about the highlight can we? – nothing finishes off a look with out a pop of highlight. I’ve been chopping and changing the highlights I’ve been using for quite a few months now, just because I have soo many faves. BUT this Revolution Bananas highlight has become a go-to. It’s really pigmented, applies smoothly and finishes off my makeup really nicely.

Moving on to Brows. Due to everything going on in the world at the moment, I haven’t been able to get my brows done so I’ve been opting for more of a natural look. I’ve just been using the my trust Florence by Mils Tinted Brow Gel. This one has a very thin, small spoolie which makes it very easy to focus the product exactly where you need it – instead of it ending up on the skin. If I do decide to do more with my brows
On an everyday basis I tend to drop the shadow and liner and just go for some mascara, but it’s always nice to have the option I keep the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette in my makeup bag because it’s a nice neutrals palette and if I need to a day-to-night look, it does the job. It’s also reminding me to actually use it because it’s usually at the bottom of my ever growing palette draw.

Having tried out a couple of the other Benefit mascaras, I really wanted to try the most iconic one, which is They’re Real. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this mascara and rightly so because it has a really nice wand, making it easy to coat every lash, give it a bit of length, curl and thickness but without that spider effect. It just makes me wonder how or why it’s taken me so long to try this one.

Bringing me onto my last product(s) in my makeup bag, which are the lippies. I like to have a couple of options and at the moment I have Velvet Teddy by MAC and the MCoBeauty Lipstick in Flawless. Even after all the years, Velvet Teddy is still a go-to for me … I think it always will be. The MCoBeauty lipstick is a new love for me as it came in a recent GlossyBox and I’ve been trying it out. It gives the look of a gloss because it so creamy – it’s nice to have a choice of a matte lip and a one with a bit of a shine.

Also, how cute is this makeup bag? It’s a really good size – quite tall too. All that and it’s on sale too !!

So, those are the products in my everyday makeup bag, I really hope you enjoyed the read. I’d love to know if you use any of these products or some products you think I need in my everyday routine, in the comments below. Don’t forget to catch up on my last post if you haven’t already!
