The ‘5 more minutes in Bed’ Makeup Routine. || Blogtober

Do you ever wake up and those 5 more minutes seem worth it? Worth potentially being late, worth missing an appointment, worth getting ready in a hurry and looking like a zombie? Well this post will be the one for you. I’m such a night owl that mornings are just a no go and will recommend avoiding all human interaction until at least 11 and a few cups of tea to make me feel more normal. Especially with these cold, dark mornings coming in, the snooze button is a godsend. For today’s post, I will be sharing, what I call, my ‘lazy’ makeup routine. So I can literally do the bare minimum, but it helps me look a little more presentable for the day. Anyway, what products would I use?

Nivea SPF 15 Moisturiser

I always steer away from primers on days like these, not intentionally I just always forget until I’m half way through blending the concealer out. So I just go straight in with a really creamy moisturiser, like this Nivea one, as it’ll make sure that the powder foundation doesn’t stick to those dry patches and not make it look great. To be fair, my skin is quite oily at the moment, so it wouldn’t have any patches to stick to anyway, but it does also give it something to stick to, to keep it in place throughout the day. It’s also very important to wear an SPF everyday, so having it in my moisturiser is a lazy way for me not to forget.

MAC PRO Longwear Concealer

When doing a more natural look, I mainly use concealer to hide my under eye circles and any breakouts etc. But as I don’t like to use too much so it doesn’t look cakey, I think the Pro Longwear Concealer from MAC is perfect for the job as it’s quite thick and has very high coverage. It does blend out really easily and dries down quite well but isn’t drying and doesn’t seem to cling to my dry patches.

NYX Can’t Stop Wont Stop Powder Foundation

I use the shade Alabaster, which I believe is the lightest shade, however it isn’t pale at all and it’s actually a little bit too orange for me. But I like this because it gives me a bit of colour and after it’s blended down my neck it gives me the right colour and the right amount of coverage that it looks like I’m doing my proper everyday makeup routine, but not in a hurry.

BBB London Brow Pencil and Florence Brow Gel

For this look, I focus on my eyebrows more than anything else because I feel like if my brows look good, I look better. After being stuck on using brow pomades for years, I have recently converted to using pencils on a daily basis and the one I have particularly loving to use is the BBB London Brow Pencil in Dark Brown. It doesn’t have much colour pay off, but this works well as it doesn’t give me block-y brows and the pencil itself is very thin so it can create hair like strokes, again keeping them natural. To set them into place, I have recently been loving the Florence by Mills Brow Gel because the brush is so fine, it’s pigmented but not too much so that my brows look like sharpies and they stay in place all day. I have written a full review on a few of the Florence products from Millie Bobby Brows makeup range and if you would like to read that post, then pleaseĀ click here.

NO7 Full 360 Rose Gold Mascara

If I do decide to use mascara, I will reach for any to be honest as I’m not too fussy which one I use, however I have been really loving the NO7 ‘full 360’ Mascara. This is because it has a thick, curved spoolie, which helps to coat each and every lash and gives them a curled, full look. I’m quite lucky to have long, thick lashes naturally, but this gives them a really good boost and I love the way it looks. I would recommend this to those who don’t have a natural curl to their lashes as this will be your life saver.

Vaseline or Too Faced Extreme Lip Injection Gloss

To finish off the look, if I actually do this step, I use either some Vaseline or the Too Faced Extreme Lip Injection plumper as my lips are usually quite dry in the mornings (especially during the colder months) and they seem to tie the look together nicely too.

And there we have the products I would use to create the most minimal of makeup looks, but just enough to actually makeup you look like you’ve made a bit of an effort and not just rolled out of bed at the last minute possible.
