Christmas GRWM – Makeup, Hair + Outfit. | Blogmas – gifted

Happy Christmas Eve my lovelies and welcome to Day 24 of Blogmas. The day has finally come my loves, Christmas 2020 is here! It’s been a bumpy ride this year, but let’s finish it off on a high over the week. For today’s post, I will be sharing a Christmas get ready with me, from the makeup, to the hair, to the outfit. The 0 to the 100, the skincare to the finished look, you’ll find all the deets throughout this post. This look isn’t going to be overly glam because I’ve done quite a few of those already this month, but I hope you like the look I created nonetheless. So, let’s get ready!

The Skincare:

My skincare routine is always chopping and changing, but today I decided to whip out my trust PMD Clean and a La Roche-Posay face scrub to double cleanse my skin and give the perfect, squeaky clean base to apply my makeup. I toned with the Environ Derma-Lac Lotion, which I probably shouldn’t have after scrubbing my skin because it is an exfoliating toner, but it makes my skin feel super smooth. You didn’t think you were getting away with a post without at least one mention of Revolution did you? As my skin, particularly around my eyes, has been really dry recently, I knew I needed a thick eye cream and this Revolution Bakuchiol does just that. It’s also really good for brightening up those under eyes. To finish of the face, I used the Avant Hyaluronic Acid DUO Moisturisers, that I’ve been trying for a month or so now, since I received it in a Glossybox. It’s a very light moisturiser and sinks into the skin quickly as it’s a gel formula and the hyaluronic acid is light a glass of water for the skin. Now, I couldn’t forget the lips because this icy weather has been leaving them very sore and cracked, so I used the iconic Lush lip scrub in mint julips.  As I said, my skincare routine is always switching up but I can always count on these products, especially my PMD Clean, to give my skin the TLC it needs.

The Makeup:

For makeup, I decided to go for more of a wearable look as I’ve done a lot of more glam looks recently. I went for a bronzey base, with a little (a lot) of blush and a pop of a gold highlighter. I went for some bold brows to try as I like at least one part of the makeup to be  bold; whether that be the eyes, the lips or in this case, the brows. I reached for the Charlotte Tilbury Charlotte’s Darling palette which is the perfect day to night wearable glam palette. I mixed shades day 3 and night 2 and blended them through the crease. I then built up the outer corner with shade night 3 and mixed day 2 and night 1 and popped that on the inner two thirds. I basically ended up with a less clean cut and more natural looking cut crease, even though I’m trying my best to try something different; are we surprised though? I mean, what else would I have gone for? I love how this look turned out but unfortunately it’s hard to see in the photo how pigmented the shadows were and the pop of pink blush.

Now, for the lips; I decided to go for a dark nude, but with a twist. I used the Steve Laurant lip liner in Vogue, which is a dark pinky nude, with the Sleek metallic lip in Electroplated Nude. Although the Sleek lipstick says it’s nude, it has red reflects in it that I love because when it catches the light it looks slightly red. I finished off with this stunning Givenchy gloss. It looks clear, but has a lovely pink tint to it and although it feels really smooth and hydrating, it doesn’t have an overly glossy look to it. These three products make a great combo and will be reaching for it more, especially throughout Christmas week.

The Hair:

I decided to keep the hair pretty natural, as I’m trying to steer myself away from the heat at the moment. I just plaited it the night before and slept with it in, as I always do, slightly brushed it out this morning, put it in a half up half down (what a throwback hairstyle this feels for me) , straightened my ringlet baby hairs and put a cute lil’ scrunchie in. I am getting my hair done in a couple of days (at the time of writing this) so I will be able to do more with my hair then.

I chose three different items from FemmeLuxe (which were very kindly gifted to me by FemmeLuxe), so I could choose between a smart dress, a more casual look of a Blouse, paired with some jeans and finally a chill outfit of Joggers and a bodysuit.

First up we have the more smart option which is a little black dress; something you just cannot go wrong with. This is the Black Ruched Midi Bodycon Dress and I picked this up in a 12. As much as I love my short dresses when getting dressed up, with this whether at the moment it’s just a big NO NO. So, I decided a midi dress would be the best option as I can rock a jacket or a coat with it and to keep me as warm as possible. This dress is really figure hugging and does look nice on but I would say that it feels quite thin; but thankfully not thin enough to be see through. If you’re more of a mini dress kinda gal, then they have a huge selection of dresses on their site.

I then picked the gorgeous Black Tie Front Organza Mesh Sleeve Crop Top which, although casual, dresses up the jeans and if you add a pair of heels it can be more smart. I picked up a 12, which is true to size and fits really nicely. It feels really good quality as well. I prefer to wear high waisted jeans with crop tops, especially in this cold winter weather, and the sleeves aren’t too big so you can comfortably wear a jacket or coat with it. The only thing is, it’s a little booby which I know some people won’t like. FemmeLuxe also stock this in white; it’s definitely on my wish list.

The last outfit that’s perfect for Christmas time is a good ol’ pair of oversized joggers to keep you warm and snugly. I have an unheard of amount of joggers in my wardrobe, but one colour of joggers I don’t own is a pink pair. These are the Light Pink Cuffed Joggers and I got these in a 10. After picking these up in a grey size 12 in a recent FemmeLuxe haul, they were quite big so I would suggest sizing down; but they were still quite oversized, which I like, but you may want to go down more than one size for your desired dit.  They’re really soft on the inside, which keeps me extra warm and they have a tie at the waist so you can tighten them, should you need to. I paired these with an oversized jumper to create the perfect winter cozies.

I just want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Thank you all so much for you support on my Blogmas this year. I will be taking a little bit of a break now and I will see you in 2021 with lots of new content. I hope you all enjoy your day, whatever it is that you’re doing big or small, I hope it’s filled with love, happiness and lots of delicious food; we all deserve it after the year we’ve had!!

What outfits will you be sporting this Christmas? Are you a dressy or a lounge wear kinda gal? I’m certainly the latter.
