Beauty Advent Calendars You NEED 2020. | Blogtober

That time of year is coming round once again (although it feels like it’s come round extra quick this year), the ‘most wonderful time of the year’ and it’s almost time get the countdown started. Every year I get really excited to pick out my beauty advent calendar but there’s just so many to choose from and every year more and more brands come out with one, or multiple; how am I ever suppose to choose? If you’re thinking the same thing, then you’re in the right place. For the last few years I have selected some of the best advents for each budget, so I thought I would do the same again this year and hopefully you will find the perfect one for you.

Charlotte Tilbury – GLITTERING GALAXY OF MAKEUP MAGIC £150:

First up we have arguably the most iconic of the beauty advent calendars. The Charlotte Tilbury is one of the most hyped about calendars and one that pretty much everyone, including myself, always looks at and tries to talk themselves out of getting. It’s a luxury 12 day calendar with 4 full size products and 8 deluxe minis that are worth over £195. Although this is one of the more expensive calendars on the market, the quality of the products does reflect this, however for £150, I would expect at least half the products to be full sized. It does include such a variety of products so I can understand why it’s sought after by so many!!

If this one has caught your eye, you can get £20 off your first £100 order by clicking here. This is an affiliate link so, at no extra cost to you, I do get £20 to spend in return … it’s a win for us both.

Full Size
– colour chameleon in Champagne DIAMONDS
– matte Revolution Lipstick in pillow talk
– eyes to mesmerize instar gold
– superstar lips in sexy lips
Travel size
– Charlotte’s magic cream
– wonderglow
– multimiracle glow
– Goddess skin clay mask
– rock ‘n’ kohl in amber moon
– legendary lashes mascara
– supermodel body (body highlighter)
– take it all off

Glossybox – REASONS TO BE HAPPY £99 (£80 for Subscribers):

Next up we have the Glossybox Reasons to be Happy 25 day Calendar. I love a 25 day calendar because there’s another little gift to look forward to on Christmas Morning. This one retails at £99 (£80 for subscribers) and the products inside are worth £390. I have been subscribed to Glossybox, on and off, for about 3 years and every year I think will be the year I end up trying it out, but I always seem to find another one that I like more. It comes with 14 full size products and 11 deluxe minis, however, they don’t seem to be sharing any sneak peaks or spoilers (just yet anyway) but I like this because it makes it all the more exciting … I would like to know one or two though, to see if it’s worth the purchase.

LookFantastic – £85:

The LookFantastic Advent is always the one that catches my eye first, I’m always excited to see what they come up with each year. I had this calendar back in 28 and it came with such a variety of products and brands and I was so pleased with it. The calender retails at just £85 but is worth £460 and comes with a mix of 25 full size and travel size products. I’m almost certain that this will be the one I go with this year, but it’ll be a tricky decision.

Want £15 off? You can do so by subscribing to their Beauty Box and using code ADVENTNEWSUBS at checkout to get your calendar for £70!

– Elemis Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream – worth £63
– Rodial Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water – worth £17
– Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Brag Volumising Mascara – worth £14
– Natasha Denona Mini Blush and Glow – worth £16
– Tan-Luxe Super Glow Hyaluronic Self Tan Serum – worth £15
– Rituals The Ritual of Sakura Body Scrub – worth £7.50
Feelunique – £89:

The Feelunique calendar is another one high on my want list for this year because it includes so many products and brands I’ve always wanted to try and some favourites that I have previously owned and loved. It retails at £89 but is worth over £275, with 25 draws filled with a mix of full size and travel size products. One advent calendar also contains a hidden golden gift card, worth £1000 each for you and a nominated friend or family member to spend at Feelunique.

– Sol De Janeiro Coco Cabana Body Moisturiser 25ml
– This Works Deep Sleep Pillow Spray 5ml
– Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara 12ml
– Urban Apothecary Mini Candle in Fig Tree 35g
– Emma Hardie Moisture Boost Vit C Cream 20ml
Bare Minerals – 24 DAYS OF CLEAN BEAUTY £89:

I’ve never really looked into the Bare Minerals advents but it definitely caught my eye this year. It’s a 24 day calendar that has a mix of eye, face and lip makeup products, as well as skincare products in full and mini size. It retails at £89 but has a worth of £194. The reason why it caught my eye is because it had a mix of skincare and beauty and not just makeup products like a lot of these. Chances are I wouldn’t try out Bare Minerals skincare but have beauty advent calendars, just like subscription boxes, does give you the opportunity to find some fab products that you wouldn’t normally use or try out.

Benefit  SHAKE YOUR BEAUTY £58.50:

Another one of your yearly iconic beauty advents is the Benefit ones and this year they have the 12 Day Shake your Beauty calender. It retails at £58.50 with a product value of £125. It’s currently in the sale on a number of different sites and you can get it for less than £50 (at the time of upload) from Debenhams. I’m such a lover of Benefit products, especially their Brow products, Mascaras and Porefessional primers, which are all such classic Benefit products and I’m pleased to see lots of them in the calendar. One thign I’m not too keen on is that the Precisely, My Brow pencil comes in Light Brown, because it’s not going to match everyone. I know they’ve got to have a shade in this brow product if they were going to include it, but I think they should probably sell the calendars in different shades to match everyone because it’s not universal like the clear Brow Gel is. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

– Precisely, My Brow Eyebrow Pencil in Light Brown
– Hoola Matte Bronzer
– Dandelion Brightening Finishing Powder
– They’re Real! Lengthening Mascara
– 24-Hour Brow Setter Clear Brow Gel
– The POREfessional Hydrate Primer
– The POREfessional Face Primer
– Roller Lash Curling Mascara
– They’re Real! Tinted Primer
– BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara
– Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel
– Roller Liner Liquid Eyeliner
NYX – DIAMONDS AND ICE PLEASE £50:

The NYX Diamonds and Ice Please Advent is packed full of eye, lip and face products in full and travels sizes and retails at £50 with a worth of over £100. NYX also has a 12 day Lip calendar which includes a mix of Soft Matte Lip Creams, Butter Gloss’s, Matte Lipsticks, Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick’s and #THISISEVERYTHING Hydrating Lip Oils; and this one retails at just £30.

Macmillans – 24 DAYS OF BEAUTY £42 :

The Macmillans 24 Days of Beauty is a 25 advent calendar, exclusive to Boots, that has a variety of different products and brands as well as a mix of full and travel size products. The reviews on Boots are not great, it has a total star rating of 1, which was due to the RRP of £85 as it was doubled from the previous year, however it has now dropped to £42. In my opinion, £42 for 25 products with a value of over £135 is well worth the money. Especially as it has a mix of incredible brands and products as well as the fact that £2 from every purchase will go to the Macmillan charity.

Revolution – £70:

If you’re a regular reader of my Blog, you’ll know that Revolution is my all time favourite beauty brand but surprisingly, I’ve never bought one of their advents. This is another 25 day advent calendar with all full size products and accessories inside. Although it retails at £70, which does seem a little pricey for a drugstore brand like Revolution, it has a worth of over £120 which is one hell of a saving and great as you’re guaranteed to get high quality products and accessories inside.

Next up we have a Pretty Little Thing Beauty Advent Calendar which I hadn’t actually seen before until I was having a look through to write this post. I think this may be their first ever one, but don’t quote me on that. This is a 24 day calendar that retails for just £40 and is worth £160. When I looked through the list of all the products that come in this one I was so shocked and pleasantly surprised. It contains lots of iconic brands including Morphe, Illamasque and even iHeartRevolution. It is currently sold out, but I can imagine, as we’re in the early days of October, that they’ll be at least one more restock this year. They also have a 12 day Lash advent full of PLT Lashes, so if you’re looking for a cheaper alternative or your more into lashes than makeup, this would be the one I’d recommend to you!!

Makeup Obsession –  COUNT ON ME £30:

Last, but not least, we have the Makeup Obsession Count on me Advent, which is the first calendar they’ve ever done. I personally love Makeup Obsession products, but I always seem to forget about them. This is a 25 day calendar with an array of different products. Although they do give a slight sneak peak, they’re not too specific with it which I think is great because you can already tell if it’ll be worth it before purchasing, but there’s still the element of surprise there.

– 2 x Pressed Highlighters
– 1 x Lip Topper
– 3 x Jelly glosses

Ahhh this has got me even more excited for the festive season! 😀 I’ve had a beauty advent calendar for the last few years since I started blogging as I find them so exciting and, as you say, it’s such a great way to try new products you mightn’t have tried before.

I was airing on the side of not purchasing an advent calendar this year to save some pennies but this has seriously swayed me! Haha. Well’ll see!
