No7 Flawless Finish Blending Sponge Review! | #2

Welcome to Episode #2 of my Reviewing Makeup Sponge Series and I’ve been soo exited to share this one with you.

This is the No7 Flawless Finish Blending Sponge and this is the most similar sponge to the Beauty Blender, that I have found so far.

I have been using this sponge for a couple of months now, and it has not disappointed. Just like the Beauty Blender, this sponge isn’t stiff, so it has a bit of a bounce, which helps to blend the foundation/concealer seamlessly.  I like the fact that this sponge expands when it’s damp, because a lot of the cheaper ones don’t seem to, and this helps the products blend seamlessly together as well as speeding up the blending process!!

Unlike the BB, the No7 sponge isn’t an egg shape, has two flat edges, one edge I use for under the eyes and mainly where I apply my concealer and the bigger flat side, I use for the rest of my face. I feel like this shape can work slightly better than the egg shape, but I do prefer the pointed tip of the egg shaped sponges as they as get into the hard to reach areas of the face, like under the eyes. I also find that the No7 sponge stays damp for longer which helps keep moisture in the foundation/ makeup etc, when blending it out.

I use the No7 sponge as my everyday applicator mainly because it’s cheaper than the BB, and as you should throw out your sponges every 3 months it can get quite expensive if you’re throwing a £16 BB away … and £7 over 3 months doesn’t seem bad at all. Obviously I can’t neglect my beloved BB, so I use it for more glam looks, when I want my base to look a 10/10 (or as close as it can haha!!).

This sponge retails at just £7, which is just over half the price of the Beauty Blender, and considering the performance it’s so much more worth it and wont break the bank. I use this sponge for primer, foundation, concealer, baking, cream contour and liquid highlight … and it works so well for each step. Although, I do find that it’s not so easy to bake with as it doesn’t have the pointed tip, like the BB does, but that would be the only criticism I have.

My overall opinion on this sponge is great, the price, performance and shape … I would really recommend this to anyone in need of a new makeup sponge or a cheaper alternative to the BB of any other one you may be using.
