My 2 Lip Obsessions || Spring Edition.

Just over a year ago I posted a Valentines Edition of my 2 Lip Obsessions and that seemed to be very much enjoyed, so I thought it was about time that I bought this back to do a spring edition. I must admit that I’m not all about that bright lip in my day to day life, so the two lip products I chose are very neutral, but I hope you enjoy reading about them anyway. Who knows, you might even like one of them enough to get you a new lippy for the spring or to finish off your everyday makeup look nicely. Let’s get right on into it.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’re probably thinking ‘a glossy lip?? that’s unlike you!’ because matte lips are all I wear… especially when it comes to everyday makeup. But this No7 High Shine Lip Crayon, which doesn’t seem to have a shade name on it, (I believe it’s called Natural Nude) came in the No7 2019 Christmas Advent calendar, has converted me. Although it’s more nude than clear, it’s still fairly pale and looks natural on the lips, just gives it a little bit of a shine and hydration. I like to pair this with the NYX Lip Liner in Ever, which is a pinky nude and this gives the perfect pink nude look. Not that it’s a plumping gloss or anything, but I find that it does make the lips look plumper.

My second favourite lip for spring is the MAC Lipstick in the shade My Tweedy. I always used to look at this nude and this it would be too orangey or dark for me, but as I was doing the Back2MAC where you return 6 empty MAC pots and get a free lippy, I thought it was a good a time than ever to try it out. As you can see from the swatch it is a warm toned, fairly dark nude, but I think it actually suits me. I like to line my lips with Boldly Bare liner also from MAC and they compliment each other so nicely. The packaging is really cute, although it’s got your standard MAC lippy packaging, the tube is MATTE compared to the shiny black it usually is. The lippy itself is really pigmented. It was a little hard to swatch as you can probably tell from the photo it’s quite patchy, but on the lips it applies really smoothly and doesn’t cling to any dry patches like some mattes can do. Although the finish is matte, it’s very creamy on the lips and doesn’t soak into the lips completely so you feel like you’re wearing lipstick if that makes sense. This can be seen as both a positive and a negative because it does mean that it comes off a lot easier and quicker than that of a liquid lip.
