The Festive Lip Guide. || Blogcember

Hi there and welcome to day 6 of Blogcember and I’m going to be sharing an updated version of my go to festive red lipsticks. For me, the festive season is all about the Red lips, but also the deep autumnal shades too and I’m particularly excited to share these with you because these are new found faves of mine (since writing the last post). I hope you enjoy reading about them and I’d love to hear about your go to red / festive lip products.

My first go to lip for this time of year is the Laritzy Cosmetics Matte Liquid Lip in the shade Power. As you can see from the swatches below, this one is a deep red colour (although it does look more brown in the swatch). Sometimes I like to switch it up from the bright reds and this one is the perfect way to do so. From just one swipe you can see how pigmented it is and this one isn’t too drying, however putting some Vaseline on your lips before applying it does help more.

The Primark matte lip in Limbo was one I bought back in the summer and I’ve been using this in my festive makeup looks (you may see some of these looks soon). It’s a fairly bright red (again the swatch makes it look different, but it’s more red not orange) and has a really creamy formula so you don’t get the drying feeling. However, it doesn’t last very well on the lips but due to it being only a couple of pounds, I’m not mad about it.

The Chloe Ferry Liquid Lipstick in the shade Envy has been in my collection for a couple of years or so now and to be honest with you, I’ve hardly used it. However when I was sorting out my makeup collection and I found it and remembered that I had it, I forgot how much I really do like the colour. It’s a little bit lighter than Whirl form MAC but it’s still kind of browny so it’s perfect for this time of the year. Again, it’s quite pigmented but it does dry the lips out and can crack if you don’t scrub your lips and use so balm underneath or gloss on top.

Next up is the NYX Lip Liner in Spicy and I think this is a good Christmasy red to wear all over the lips and on its own. Although it’s quite creamy, it can be quite drying so a little bit of lip balm does help a ton. You do have to work it a bit to warm the product up but after it’s applied it does look really good and it’s only like £4 so what’s not to love?

You may have seen me talking about the ByKady Velvet Liquid Lipstick in Unbutton many times before and I’m gonna mention it again because it’s still one I love. You can read my review of this one here. I actually forgot I had this one until a couple of weeks ago but this one is also a good ol’ festive colour. One thing I like a little bit more about this one is that it has a Velvet finish, which helps those lips because I don’t know about you but my lips get particularly dry this time of year and that little bit of extra moisture does help. It ha a very creamy formula, applies evenly and one swipe is enough to create an opaque colour on the lips. It’s a bit more of a pinky, warm toned nude and I don’t usually wear pinky colours so I’m surprised I like to wear this one but it’s still one of my faves.

*Just a quick note that the swatches below seem to look slightly different than they do in real life, but they’ve all been done in one swipe so you can see just how pigmented they all are.*

Last but not least is the MAC Lipstick in Whirl, which is a dark brown, nudey colour. I’ve always been a massive fan of MAC lipsticks, so naturally I had to include at least one in this list. I’m all about my autumnal lip colours but some can be a little bit too dark. However, this one is a bit more nude just darker so it suits me perfectly. I can see this becoming my everyday lip throughout the next few months as I don’t really wear reds on a daily basis.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post, I really hope you enjoyed it and I will see you again tomorrow for my next Blogcember post.
