ByKady ‘Unbutton’ Velvet Liquid Lipstick | Thoughts + Makeup Look!

Hey there and welcome to a new post on my blog. As I’m so fussy about matte liquid lipsticks, I was umm-ing and ahh-ing for so long whether to try out Kady Mcdermott’s new ByKady liquid lips or not. The reason why I’m so fussy is because they can be so drying, some brands including Kylie Cosmetics, I find quite thick so they crumble on the lips, but ByKady have got it just right with the Velvet Liquid Lips, so I thought I would share my initial thoughts with you and the details of a makeup look I create with it, with you all.

It’s super creamy when applied and it dried down matte probably within a minute of applying. I also noticed that it didn’t have that drying, almost tight feeling that you get with some liquid lipsticks and after wearing it for the best part of 8 hours, I felt that it still looked really good, even after eating and drinking and I didn’t reapply. It can seem quite pricey at £18 for the size of the tube, but to be honest considering the quality and longevity, it’s deffo worth every penny! It’s also super pigmented, so you really only need one coat, which in turn means that the tube could last longer than a lot of other liquid lipsticks. I’m so impressed by this liquid lip and I can’t wait to try more products from ByKady!!

I know I’m awful at swatches, but here’s a swatch of Unbutton with the flash. In the above shot, Unbutton does look slightly more red than it does in person but it’s a dark-ish, warm tone nude.

This has been my go-to makeup look for quite a while now, so it’s nice to switch it up with a different lip colour, as opposed to my all time fave which is MAC’s Velvet Teddy. I found that this lipstick complimented and finished off the look so well. You could easily make this more of a day to night look by just adding some lashes or more blush, bronzer and highlight.
