My Holiday Evening Makeup Routine! | Collab

Hey there and welcome back to a new post on my blog. This one is particularly exciting because it’s in collaboration with Beth from bethhillsite.wordpress.comBeth and I will both be sharing our holiday evening makeup routines. I hope you enjoy and don’t forget to check out Beths post after.

I like to really moisturize my skin whenever I do my makeup, but particularly when I’m on holiday  and I really like to mix my Body Shop Vitamin C Moisturiser with any SPF 50 sun cream, but I use this Nivea one at the moment. Although, this is my evening makeup routine, I still like to keep my skin protected.

I then take the L’Oreal Lumi Magique Base and mix it with the L’Oreal Nude Magique Foundation  because it creates a really glowy looking base and the Primer is very good dupe for the MAC Strobe Cream. This foundation is really lightweight which is nice to wear whilst your abroad because you don’t want something too heavy which will just sweat off … I know, gross!

Next up, I use the NYX HD Concealer, I really like this concealer because it blends well and it doesn’t crease. I don’t usually use this concealer because I don’t think the shade range is very good but when I’m tanned the lightest colour does work as an under eye highlight.

After concealer, I then take my Lottie London Ready Set Go Loose Powder and bake under my eyes, the middle of my forehead and my chin as these the areas that I get oily. I like this power because it is actually translucent and its very fine so it doesn’t look cakey.

When I’m on holiday I don’t really like to contour properly so I just bronze my cheeks, temples and down the sides of my nose with warmer toned bronzers by using the Makeup Revolution Bronzer and the W7 Honolulu Bronzer. I find these are a very good combo as the Makeup Revolution one has matte finish and the W7 one has a slight shimmer to it.

I then take my ‘Manizer Sisters’ Palette by The Balm and use Cindy-Lou Manizer on the apples of my cheeks and Mary-Lou Manizer on the high points of my face. This Blush and Highlight combo is one of my favourites to wear throughout the warmer months as they’re so pigmented and last all day/night. These are also probably the most pigmented Highlighters in the drugstore … I’m obsessed!

Moving on to the brows, I use the Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil because it’s a very fine pencil so it makes your brows look very natural and it’s also waterproof so it doesn’t smudge or rub off throughout the evening.

I’m not usually someone that wears a lot of eye shadow, so sometimes I usually just run some bronzer through my crease just to bring the look together, but if I do wear eye makeup this is my go-to palette. This is the Morphe 35k Palette, and I particularly like this palette because you can create so many different types of look with it, which is good when you’re travelling and you don’t want take loads of different palettes with you!

Firstly, I take the shade closest to my skin tone (yellow X) and put that all over my lid to set the concealer and this will help the colours to blend better. I then take a shade darker than my skin tone (pink X) and blend that all over my lid before going in with a darker nude (green X) and running that through my crease. To darken the look a bit more, I then go in with the red-ish brown (blue X) (which is more red than the picture shows) and blend it on the outer crease. To finish off the look I then take the Champagne colour (orange X) and pat that over the rest of the lid, on the inner corner and then on my brow bone.

I know this isn’t a very ‘summery’ look but I liked the warmer tones especially with my Green eyes.

To finish off the eyes, I like to use the L’Oreal Miss Baby Doll Waterproof Mascara  which I’m sure you’ve heard so many Bloggers and Youtubers talking about recently. I really am liking this mascara because with just one coat of this it curls your lashes, making them look longer and also makes them look slightly thicker and have more volume. Also as it’s waterproof it wont smudge and leave you with panda eyes … I would really recommend this!

If I do decide to wear lashes I would wear some wispy ones, usually with tapered ends because I think they make your eyes look bigger and these Kiss Lashes in the style Ritzy are some of my favourites at the moment as they also look slightly natural.

As I don’t use a setting powder all over my face, I really need something thats going to lock my makeup in place. I’m constantly trying out new setting sprays but I’m really liking this Skindinavia Oil Control one at the moment. This is also very similar to the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray!

Now for my favourite part of my makeup … the LIPS. During the summer I really like to wear bright coloured lipsticks to make a change from my everyday nudes and at the moment I’m loving The Body Shop Matte Liquid Lipstick in Cali Gerbera 010 as I think it looks nice with my eye colour and as I would do a quite neutral eye this will really give it that POP of colour.

If I wanted to go for a more natural lip colour, I would use either of these glosses from Smashbox, in either shade Coraline or Pout, which still have a little bit of colour to them but they’re not too much! I’m really liking these glosses as they last well on the lips and they aren’t sticky, they’re more buttery.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post, I really hope you enjoyed it.
