Late Summer Clothing Haul and Pop of Colour Glam! | #gifted.

Well hello there, it’s been a while hasn’t it? After the 5 year milestone of me having my blog, back in January, I ended up taking a bit of a break from blogging as I had worked on it nearly every day over the course of that time. Whether it be writing posts, taking pictures, working on the design of my site, admin bits, creating looks, making pins etc. etc. I thought it was time for a little break, but here we are over 7 months on from my last post and I’m ready to get stuck in again!!!

For todays post, I wanted to share a bit of a clothing haul for late summer and holiday clothes and makeup look. Because we will be heading into autumn shortly, I wanted to get one last summer look in, because I love glowy, lightweight colourful glam. I’m off to Fuerteventura towards the end of September so most of these items I will be taking with me. I’ve noticed a lot of summer clothes in stores are coming to the end of the season now, so it has been a little harder than normal to find some summer staples, but I have found some goodies. Now, let me show you what I have found recently.

*items from FemmeLuxe have been kindly gifted to me*

First up we have this champagne strappy crop top. I picked this up because I thought it would look nice with some denim shorts for the evening but kinda make them look a little more casual. I love a basic nice top for evenings on holiday as you don’t want anything to heavy or thick, but still wanna feel that little more dressed up. I think this one fits really well and is true to size but also is really flattering on and supports the girlies.

These green floaty shorts are lovely and i had such high hopes for how they were going to look on, but I don’t think they look as good as I thought they would. They fit nicely around the waist and around the thighs but they give such a camel toe which just isn’t a good look! I’m not sure whether the answer would be to go up a size because then they would be too big. Other than this, they’re actually pretty good quality, a beautiful colour and will look really nice on holiday. I have found if you wear them a little lower than high waisted, they do fit better and with a nice lil crop top or strappy tee these can create such a nice evening outfit, for beachside drinks or dinner etc.

The last item I chose from FemmeLuxe is this olive midi dress. I’ve been living midi dresses and skirts recently as I think their really flattering and suit my body shape the best, but also make me feel comfortable as I don’t like having my legs out too much. It’s more on the bigger side, so I would probably suggest sizing down if you like it figure hugging like I do. It’s really good quality and isn’t thin so you don’t have to worry about it being see through etc. I will 100% be taking this on holiday with me, I absolutely love the style, the fit and it’s also my favourite colour; I just love it.

Okay, this orange dress has to be the item I’m most excited about; how stunning is it? This is from Cider and it’s been on my wish list for quite a while now and thought the perfect time to buy it was for holiday! I’ve not really been someone who wears up colour, until more recently when I’ve become obsessed with wearing the colour green, but if you can’t wear a pop of colour on holiday; when can ya? It is a little thin, so light underwear is a must, but this makes it so lightweight and perfect for the warm weather.

Moving onto the look. It’s been a while since I’ve had a proper play with some makeup so I decided to break out some of my old fave palettes and create a pretty summer halo eye with a pop of colour. I wanted to keep the base pretty basic and go all out on the eyes, so I started out with this MUA Banana Blur Primer, the PS My Perfect Skin Foundation and my trusty Revolution Conceal + Define Infinite Concealer before setting with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I then used my go to bronze and blush combo which is the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer and the Milani Blush in Luminoso to finish off the base.

Now onto my fave bit; the eyes. I decided to whip out the Revolution Tasty Peach and Makeup Obsession LA Dreams Eye Palettes to create todays look. After priming with the Revolution Cut Crease Canvas in Halo, I started off with the Tasty Peach palette and blended a mix of Nectarine and Bitter Almond into the crease before focusing Melba on the inner and outer corner and then deepened it with a mix of Sweet Cheeks and Melba. We all know that it’s all in the blending, so I took a little bit of Orchard and blended it into the brow bone to avoid the harsh line.

I got to this point and felt that it didn’t feel bright or summery enough, so I decided to turn to the LA Dreams palette to add a lil green. I took some more of the Cut Crease Canvas to create the halo eye and packed Palm Trees on top; this shade is stunning. I haven’t been doing the inner corner or brow bone highlight recently but I wanted to use a little bit of Smoothie Please so popped that on there and it finished the shadow nicely. I kept it very simple for brows and just set them in place with the Refy Beauty and Florence by Mills Brow Gels before finishing the look off with some PLT Mollie Lashes and the no7 full 360 mascara and and voila, here’s the final look.

And there we have it. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post, I really hope you enjoyed. If you have any suggestions on where I should look for some more holiday bits then please let me know in the comments and I WILL see you all soon with a new post; that’s a promise!!
