My Makeup Style || TAG.

Hey there, I’m back with another TAG post today as we all know how much I like doing them ah. This is the ‘My Makeup Style’ TAG, which will help you find out all about my makeup including the products I like using, the brands I love and how I got into makeup. So if you would like to read all about this, then please keep reading.

1. What kind of eye primer do you use and why? Liquid or Shadow Stick?

I use the Smashbox Under Eye Primer all over my lids and under my eyes as it’s really hydrating but it doesn’t give a cakey, thick look that some Concealers or eye shadow primers can. It does sink into the skin, but doesn’t go completely matte so I always set it with one of the closest shadows to my skin colour / tone, that is in the palette I’m using.

2. What colour eye shadow makes you feel bold and pretty at the same time?
Orange is deffo my go-to as it can look fairly natural with not much going on, but you can also make it super glam and it’s especially perfect for summer when you want a neutral colour without having to use Browns. The orange (Cloudberry) from the sophdoesnails revolution palette is deffo my favourite, from the ones I have tried so far.

3. What eye shadow colour do you least like to wear and why?
I’d say black because although it can look really nice and sultry, it doesn’t always go right and can look a little too much. I think I just need to practice doing black smokey eyes more to be honest so that I can get it right, but that’s probably my least favourite shadow colour because of that reason.

4. Do you wear Liquid or Pencil Eye Liner?

I don’t really wear liner that often, but black pencil liner has become something that I like to put on my water line. If I’m going for a super glam look and want to cover the lash band, then I’ll use a little bit of liquid liner but for not I’d say pencil. Please let me know if you have any liner recommendations, in the comments below.

5. Rimmel or Maybelline Mascara?
Deffo Rimmel, because although there are a couple of Maybelline mascaras that I like, a lot of my all time favourites are from Rimmel including the Miss Baby Roll, VML Feline and the Scandal-eyes ones.

6. If you could have your eyebrows permanently done or not wear any blush again, what would you choose?I’m not really a big fan of blush to be honest, so I’d deffo have to have my brows done permanently because I don’t feel like my makeups finished when my brows aren’t done.

7. Who taught you to do makeup?

I’m pretty much self taught, other than what I’ve learned through watching YouTube tutorials. However, I studied Makeup Artistry at college in order to improve my skills and potentially go onto to be an MUA.

8. Are you a fan of cream products e.g. blush, concealer or contour etc and why?
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you’ll know that cream products just doing really work with my skin, I’m not sure why but sometimes it’s just too full coverage and too cakey or some cream products, especially blushes, just don’t really blend that well which doesn’t look good.

9. When did you start getting into makeup and what was the first product / brand you used?

I’ve always loved the idea of makeup from a very young age, probably like 6/7 as I was always drawn towards colour. Obviously, I started out with kids makeup like lip gloss and stuff, but at the end of middle school, at like 11 I was allowed to buy some tinted moisturiser, mascara and blusher and they were all from Natural Collection. I remember feeling soo grown up and as soon as I was allowed to get a full on eye shadow palette I was in my element, with my awful, unblended looks haha!!

10. Setting spray, do you believe in it? Which is your holy grail?

I don’t necessarily think that setting sprays works, as I use primer anyway so they could be working well together, or one of them could be working and the other one not, but I think setting sprays are really refreshing and hydrating and they also take the powdery look away from the skin so I couldn’t not use it. To be honest, I’ve only actually used a few setting sprays and I think my fave would be the Skindinavia, even though I haven’t restocked on it in such a long time.

Please let me know what your answers would be, in the comments below because I’d love to know!!
