Ben & Anna UK Vegan Deodorant Stick | Review! *gifted*

I’m very excited to be writing today’s blog post, as I will be reviewing a Vegan Deodorant Stick by Ben & Anna. Ben & Anna are a real life couple and have recently released their brand in the UK after being launched in Germany around 2 years ago, in June 2016. B&A are a strictly vegan, organic brand and their products are aluminium and paraben free.

Recently, I have been looking closely into trying to use more products that aren’t testing on animals or using animal products and swapping out those that are. I was kindly sent this Deodorant Stick from Claire, who is the Marketing Assistant at Ben & Anna and I will be sharing my thoughts on this with you all!

I really like the packaging of these sticks, although they are quite minimalistic, they have white packaging, with the stickers that correspond to the scent of each stick and they even have an unscented stick called ‘Pure‘ so this would be perfect for those that have sensitive skin. Ben & Anna  have also recently launched the Natural Deodorant Sticks with paper packaging, in the UK, which I the one I have here and they’re working towards cutting down plastic waste.

The Full Range includes:

  • PURE
  • PINK GRAPEFRUIT
  • INDIAN MANDARINE
  • PERSIAN LIME
  • VANILLA ORCHID
  • PROVENCE
  • NORDIC TIMBER

These sticks retail at £9.95 each and you get 60g worth of product. These sticks are a little more pricey that your average deodorant, but I think the fact they’re vegan, the way the work, the scents they offer and the story behind their brand, that it is worth it and that I would be happy to spend that little bit extra on an independent company with such great branding, packaging and story.

You can read their story here!!

I decided that the Pink Grapefruit Stick would be best for me as 1. I love fruity scents, especially during the summer time and 2. when it’s described like this on the website:

‘A slice of heaven with a sparkling smell that makes you feel good. The extracted grapefruitunfolds as the deodorant is applied to the skin.Anna has a particular affinity for this amazingfragrance combination and will be quick to tellyou that this is a must have for your next holiday trip.’

I knew it would be perfect for me. I have very sensitive under arms and a lot of deodorants can be quite itchy on me, however this one seems to be very comfortable. The benefits of this stick include it’s soft on the skin, neutralizes any odour, it’s not sticky and it even says on the website that they don’t clog the pores on the underarm area. I also noticed that this does stay on all day, I could still smell the scent after a long, hot day and it still smelled very nice, so this is another plus for me.

The Ingredients Include:

Sodium Bicarbonate, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter*, Maranta Arundinacea Root Powder*, Zea Mays Starch, Cocos Nucifera Oil*, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil*, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Helianthus Annuus Seed Cera, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Shorea Robusta Resin, Rhus Verniciflua Peel Cera, Citrus Grandis Peel Extract, Limonene**, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Rhus Succedanea Fruit Cera, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil*, Citral**, Linalool**, Daucus Carota Sativa Root Extract*, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Extract* (source here)

Overall, I am very happy with these deodorant sticks particularly because they’re vegan, they don’t make my under arms itchy and they also have some really greats scents so I’m sure everyone will be able to find one they love.
