My Netflix Picks! || Collab w/ blushesandbutterflies.

Today’s post is quite an exciting one for two reasons, one being that I’m doing something completely different to anything I have done on my blog before by sharing some of my favourite series and films on Netflix. And the other reason being that this post is actually in collaboration with Huda from www.blushesandbutterflies.com. Huda will also be sharing her Netflix picks over on her blog, so make sure you check out her posts after this one by clicking here. Let’s jump right in then!

1. YOU

Okay, so let’s start off with a very new favourite of mine and that is the series called YOU, which I’m sure you’ve all heard the hype about it even if you haven’t seen it. I don’t usually jump on the bandwagon and watch hyped about series or films as soon as they come out, but with this one I just thought I would give it a go … and thank god I did. If you don’t know, YOU is about a charming psychopath who starts to stalk an aspiring writer when he takes a liking to her after she comes into his book store. The series follows this guy on the journey through his growing relationship with the writer and also previous times in his life that have made him who he is today. I wont give away anything else, but if you haven’t yet given it a watch then I really recommend it to you. I also read that there may be a series 2 of this, so hopefully they do.

2. 13 Reasons Why

Well, I did say that I don’t usually jump on the band wagon with hyped series, but here I am again talking about another overly raved about show, however I did hold off for a long while before I started watching it. I actually binged watched this series, like many others, and managed to finish it in 2 days … and I really enjoyed it. However, I didn’t like series 2 as much and considering I was so excited for them to bring it out, I do think it was a bit of a let down. I know it’s a bit of a contraversial show and people think that it glorifies suicide … which I guess it does, I do still think that it is a good series and if you’re into Thrillers kinda series, then I think you’ll really like this. Also, season 3 is supposed to be coming out soon, so I hope its a good one!

3. Insatiable

Moving on to Insatiable and I actually heard about this series on Twitter when it was first released. I remember people having strong opinions about how it was basically portraying a message that being skinny is better than being bigger which I do understand but I did really enjoy the series. This show is full of surprises and lots of things happen that you just don’t see coming so I will leave it to you to check it out if you want to just so I don’t ruin it.

4. Stranger Things

Stranger Things was one of those series that I tried a few times but just couldn’t get into but on like the third time of watching it, I became hooked and ended up watching both series in a few days. I’m sure you’ve all seen this but I wouldn’t want to ruin it, but it’s about a boy who goes missing and his group of friends and his family have to find out where he is. Whilst he is missing, his friends meet a girl (Millie Bobby Browns character Eleven) with strange powers whose on the run and she can help to find him. I believe a new seasons is coming this year so I’m looking forward to watching that one!!

5. Gavin & Stacey

I’m sure this is an obvious one, especially if you know me because even after like 10 years, I still watch each series back to back. I’m sure you’ve all seen Gavin & Stacey, however, if you still haven’t then I cannot recommend it enough to you. It’s like the perfect British sitcom about two people that meet online and after ages of talking only, they finally meet in person and you follow their lives together.

6. Sierra Burgess is a Loser

This film is very much one where you really want the girl and the guy to get together and you’re rooting for the girl but you know with her actions and the way she tries to get him that you shouldn’t like her, but you do … that will probably make sense to those who have watched it. If you liked To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before then you’ll more than likely like this one as well and Noah Centineo is also in this so do I really need to say anything else? haha.

7. To all the Boys I’ve loved before

This one is probably one of my favourite chick flicks that I’ve seen in years and it’s deffo up there with Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging and Mean Girls. I’m sure you’ve all watched this film but if you haven’t and you love films that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, then this ones for you!

8. Sex Education

I was trying to hold off from watching Sex Education just because I was hearing mixed reviews about it. But as I was struggling to find a new series to watch one day, I decided to give it a go and I actually really liked it. Usually it takes me a while to actually get into series, but this on was actually really good from the start and I couldn’t not keep watching the next episode and I ended up finishing it in like 2 days. If you haven’t watched this yet, I do really recommend it!

9. Every Day

I actually only watched this film a week or so ago but it’s a really good film. I saw an advert for this quite a while ago when it came out and I really wanted to see it, so I was happy that it popped up in my recommended and reminded me to do just that. Not to spoil it too much for you but it’s about a person called A who wakes up everyday in someone else’s body and ends up as someones boyfriend for the day, who he eventually falls for and they start seeing each other but it doesn’t run too smoothly as he’s always waking up in a different life. I thought it was such a cool concept for a film and I found that the way the story line unfolded was really good and kinda sad in some parts.

10. You Get Me

Last but not least is You Get Me and this is one of those films where you want there to be a happy ending for the couple because along the way they do run into some issues. Not to give too much about this film away but it’s about a couple that go through a bad patch and a new girl comes into it but ends up being a bit of a stalker.

So, there we have my Netflix picks, I really hope you enjoyed reading this post and liked seeing something new on my blog. Also, thank you to Huda for collab-ing with me on this post and make sure to check out her blog afterwards.
