Blogtober Day 15 || October Glossybox Unboxing.

It's been a while since I've done an unboxing post because I cancelled my Birchbox subscription a few months ago. But, I was really missing that little box of goodies every month and Glossybox has looked so much better than Birchbox was, so I thought I would sign up to theirs instead. Let's see what goodies came in the October box then.

The first item I received in this months box is the STYLondon Angel Eyeshadow Palette, which is a beautiful warm toned palette, with what I would call very autumnal colours. It’s says it’s a full size product and is worth £15. The colours are actually very pigmented and very smooth and creamy.

Next up is the Lord & Berry 20100 Maximatte Lipstick Crayon in Angellic Pink. I have searched this and it does have really good colour pay off. You do get a full size product which also retails at £15. The only problem I have with this product is that it’s a very pale pink colour, which isn’t really my colour so if it were a nude, I know I’d have liked it a lot more.

The Bubble T x Glossybox Angel Dust Foaming Bath Powder is one of the items that I was most excited to try, when I opened the box up. I haven’t used a Bath Powder before but I have heard that they’re really good and they’re really moisturising on the skin because it makes the bath like a milk (if that makes any sense). This again is a full sized product and it retails at £5 which I don’t think is too expensive, but I’m sure that there are cheaper ones on the market.

Next up we have the MCoBeauty Eye Define Crayon Liner and I haven’t actually got around to trying this out yet. But from a quick swatch I think this will be very easy to apply onto the eye and you can even smoke it out a bit for a smokey eye effect. This is said to retail at £15, which is a bit more pricey than a lot of eye pencils, so hopefully the quality and wear time of the price fits with the price point.

Last up is the Que Bella Professional Illuminating Holographic Peel off Mask and I’m actually really excited to see if this does what the name says it will. I don’t really like peel off masks because they can be slightly painful and also a bit messy too, but I think this will be really good for peeling any dry skin away (as gross as it sounds) and cleaning out any pores. This one retails at just £2.49, so it’s the cheapest product in the box but I wouldn’t underestimate it just because it’s so cheap. I do hope this one will be good because who doesn’t love a bargain?

Overall I am very please with this months box as there are lots of new products and brands for me to try which I may not have otherwise heard about. The box this month is worth a total of £52.49 and this costs just £10!! If that doesn’t make you want to try it out, even just once, then I don’t know what will.

Thankyou so much for taking the time to read this post, I really hope you enjoyed reading about what bits came in October’s Glossybox. I can’t wait to see what comes in next months box.

Blogtober Day 14 || My Autumnal Candle Wishlist!

Hiya! Welcome to a new post where today I will be sharing my Autumnal Candle Wishlist. To be honest this was supposed to be a haul, until I realised how expensive candles are ... especially bath and body works ones. I’ve actually also just realised that all these candles are from bath and body works and that wasn’t even planned either ... I guess it just shows how much I bloody love them! Each candle retails at $24.50, they have 3-wicks so they burn really easily, all have essential oils and they have 45 hours of burning time ... what’s not to love? Anyway let’s see which autumnal candles are on my wishlist.

Sweater Weather

The first B&BW’s candle on my wishlist is ‘Sweater Weather’. The fragrance is said to contain Fresh Sage, Juniper Berry, Aromatic Eucalyptus, Fresh Woods, which sounds like it will be such a refreshing and soothing scent and almost smell like a fresh rainy day. I think this one would be a less overpowering scent as a lot of other autumnal / Christmassy candles can be.

Marshmallow Fireside

Doesn’t marshmallow fireside just sound like an A/W dream in the form of a scent? This scent includes Toasted Marshmallow, Smoldering Woods, Fire Roasted Vanilla, Crystallized Amber. After reading some of the reviews I can see that this is quite a nostalgic scented candle as it has made people think of times they toasted marshmallows on the fire at a campsite.

Fresh Fall Morning

I’ve heard so much about this one from other bloggers and youtubers in hauls and this one is definitely at the top of my wishlist. I love fresh scents and cold, damp mornings are one of the most refreshing times I can think of. This one has notes of Citrus Zest, Woodland Sage, Red Delicious Apples, which is going to be a lovely fruit scent but with the sage it’ll give it a sweet, herby edge.

Pumpkin Pecan Waffles

Pumpkin Pecan Waffles is one candle I’m sure you’ve all heard about when it comes to Bath & Body Works candles. Maple Syrup, Golden Waffles, Pumpkin Spice and Brown Sugar make up this candles scent and I can imagine this will smell like a pancake day morning with a hint of spice which is perfect for this time of year. Ugh I know I can’t buy them all, but I think this is going to be the next one on my list.

Frosted Cranberries

Frosted Cranberries probably won’t be my favourite scent out of all of them on my list, but it’s deffo going to more of a Christmassy one. It’s made with notes of Iced Cranberries, Blonde Woods, Red Apple, Tonka Bean and Orange and has a cute little polar bear on the packaging ... which to be honest is enough to make me what to buy it solely for that reason. From one of the reviews I can see this scent has any amazing throw of the scent and can be smelt all through the house.

Cinnamon Spiced Vanilla

Vanilla is definitely one of my favourite scents out of anything and a little spice never hurt nobody. (Take that sentence as you will😂). This one is made up of Fresh Ground Cinnamon, Sugar Crystals, Tahitian Vanilla Bean and has two different types of packaging ... one being cream and one being a mixture of marble and grey and that would look so pretty to use as a makeup brush holder or something afterwards!!!

Flannel

The last candle on my wishlist is the one called Flannel and the scent includes Fresh Bergamot, Heirloom Mahogany, Soft Musk. If you know me, you’ll know I absolutely love musky scents ... especially got perfumes and bergamot is another scent that I really like, so I think this will be one I’ll have to pick up soon!

Thankyou so much for taking the time to read this post, I really hope you enjoyed it! I don’t really know if this was interesting for you to read, but I know wishlist's are some of the most popular posts on my entire blog so I do hope you did.

Blogtober Day 13 || My Perfect Sunday!

Hey! It's my favourite day of the week, the day of chilling in your jammies whilst it's cold and rainy outside and I decided to do a post where I share my day with you and what my perfect Sunday looks like. I said I was going to switch things up with the content I'm posting and/ I thought a little post like this was a good start. So, what does my perfect Sunday include?

I spent the morning baking some double chocolate cupcakes. This wasn't something that I had planned today but once I had the idea in my head, I just decided to do so. I went to buy the ingredients and got to baking. Clearly, I'm no baker and they don't look great but they tasted really good and I thought the little animal decorations were really cute. I ended up ditching the idea of using a bad to pipe the icing, because it just wasn't working!

I found these animal cake decorations in Tesco, I've linked them just here if you would like to have a look.

I don't get too much time during the week to plan or write so I do like to spend my weekends catching up or adding any final tweaks to a post before publishing it. Yes, I do have two big notebooks / planners and these aren't even the half of them haha. I never used to use Planners for my blog until maybe a year or so ago and now I couldn't be without it. It's all well and good having my ideas and stuff in my notes on my phone, but it's so much easier for me to have it on a page on the specific date I need it. I have linked the planners below because whether you're a blogger or not, this can help so much with becoming more organised. I believe the Zoella planner has been discontinued, so I've linked another one of her's.

I felt like my skin needed a bit of TLC today, so I decided to have a little pamper. I lit one of my favourite candles, which is the Bath & Body Works Black Teakwood one, and I used the Simple x Little Mix sheet mask. I was actually really impressed with this mask, my skin does feel much more hydrated and fresh. I also used some under eye serum mask / patches, these aren't amazing admittedly, but they did feel really cool and refreshing under the eyes.

Because it's quite a cold, rainy day today, I decided to have a hot chocolate and I used the Luxury White Hot Chocolate one which I actually got in this month Glossybox ... spoiler alert. I've not had a white hot chocolate before, but let me tell you it was amazing. I think I need to get some more of these ahh.

I would then finish off my perfect Sunday watching some Netflix or YouTube, chilling out before a roast dinner this evening and having a nice warm bath with some a Lush Bath Bomb ... because that's what Sundays are for right?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post, I really hope you enjoyed it. Also, don't forget that my Morphe Palette giveaway is still open on twitter @lucibarker_.

Blogtober Day 12 || The Knitwear Edit '19

OK October, you can like slow down now, I cannot believe we're approaching half way through the month and half way through Blogtober. I really hope you've enjoyed the posts I have put out so far because I certainly am loving uploading every single day ... although I must say it's been a tad stressful. I know I only did an Autumn Clothing Wishlist post a few weeks or so ago, but for the past two years I have done a Knitwear Edit post and that's always a post that seems to go down well, so I guess you could say it's tradition to do it every October now. So, what knitwear items have made the cut this year?

Blogtober Day 11 || My Current Playlist - Oct.19!

I don't have a specific taste in music as I love all different kind of songs, but for the first time in a long time I've found myself listening to a number of different songs by different artists, rather than binge-ing on one album for weeks on end. It's been so long since I've done a post like this, so I thought I'd bring it back and do an updated on of all the songs I'm currently listening to. I hope you like this post, you can just click the play button below to have a listen. I'd love to know what songs you're currently listening to, in the comments below.

Blogtober Day 10 || Things to do in or around Sussex for Halloween.

Hi there! Seeing as Halloween / Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year, I thought I would share some of the popular attractions and things to do in and around Sussex for this time of year. This is a very different post to something I have done before. but I am looking forward to sharing lots of different content with you in the next few months. I hope you enjoy and if there's anything else you think I should've mentioned or you would recommend, then please leave them in the comments below.

1. Roundstone Pick Your Own - Ferring, West Sussex.

One thing that screams Halloween to me are pumpkins and pumpkin picking is something that I think I've done once or twice, despite living so close to this one. Roundstone PYO is loved by so many for picking fresh fruit and veg throughout the year. Strawberry picking was something I really enjoyed growing up and have some fond memories of doing so. If you watch Zoella's Videos or read her Blog, then you may have seen her and Mark come here a lot and obviously, it's a very instagrammable place. Roundstone PYO is one I could recommend for anyone of all ages and 'm definitely planning on going this year!

2. Tulley's Farm - Crawley.

Tulley's Farm Shocktover Fest is one of my favourite Halloween attractions to visit, but I don't do it nearly enough. I'm sure you've all heard about this one as many influencers and celebs rave about it every year ... as well as ordinary people, like me, of course!! The tickets for this one can seem a little bit pricey, but you do get to see all of the attractions and they have a lot to offer including 10 Haunts & Scaremazes, lots of lovely cosy food & drinks including hog roasts and mulled wine. As well as lots of sweet treats like waffles, pancakes and crepes (the food and drink is all at an extra cost). A number of bars and live music too, so I think it's worth every penny! My favourite attractions of them all are the Chop Shop and the Hayride.

3. Thorpe Park Fright Night - Chertsey, Surrey.

I'm sure everyone in the south/ south east has been to Thorpe Park's fright night at least once ... well everyone except me that is. I always plan on going every year, but everything just get's super busy and I don't end up going. I hear so many good things and read so many amazing reviews about how Thorpe Park goes all out for their fright night. And some of the highlights of the spooky period include live action mazes, the whole park is spookily decorated (if that's even a word) and there are actors all dressed up roaming around the park. Their fright nights run on selected dates from the end on September to early November and they always have new spooks each Halloween, that aren't there for the rest of the year. One thing I like about Thorpe Park is that their fright 'nights' last from 10am to 10pm ... obviously it would be more spooky at night, but it does make it easier for anyone to go, whether it's during the day or just for the evening. I can imagine it would be the perfect time to brave the Saw Maze.

4. Screampark Pier Party - Brighton, East Sussex.

I hadn't actually heard of the Screampark Pier Party until this year, but apparently it's been really popular since 2012. If you haven't heard of this one, it's basically a Halloween party that takes place on Brighton pier on Halloween night. Entry includes unlimited rides, live scare actors, creepy stalls and even entry to 4 after parties which are fancy dress and there will be games, DJ's and apparently lots more.

5. Ghost Walk of the Lanes - Brighton, East Sussex.

Last, but not least, is the Ghost Walk of the Lanes and this is one that I have wanted to do for soo long now, but I just seem to forget about it every year. I'm not actually sure if this one is on all year round or for a long period of time, or whether it is just on around Halloween, but this is deffo something I want to get around to doing during the Spooky season.
