The Beauty Advent Calendars You Need For 2018! *every budget*

Hey there and welcome to today's blog post. Around this time of year the advent calendars are all being released. I've just bought my calendar for this year and as we're approaching the festive season I thought I would share some of the Beauty advent calendars that I have had my eye on this year, but didn't end up buying. As usual, I have included calendars for all budgets to help you all find your perfect one, as well as a discount code too!! ... Also how many times can I say the words advent calendar in one post eh?!

Charlotte Tilbury - £150 (click here)

I'm sure it was obvious that I was going to mention the Charlotte Tilbury Calendar because this is always one of the most popular luxury advents every single year and rightly so because CT is such an incredible brand. This one is one of the most expensive beauty calendars on the market at £150, which is quite pricey for just 12 doors, but it comes with 12 products that are a mixture of mini and full size. As Charlotte Tilbury is a high end brand the price tag does reflect this, however it does have a product value of £196, so if you wanted to invest in some award winning beauty and skincare products then this will be the one for you. Unfortunately this one seems to be out of stock at the moment but if you do some searching other places may have them!

Look Fantastic - £79 (click here)

This year I decided to pick the Look Fantastic Advent Calendar because the last 2 or 3 years I've wanted it, but didn't want to spend too much on a calendar ... however, this year I caved in and did exactly that. This one retails at £79, but it does say that the products inside are worth £300, so I'm excited to see what's inside. £79 for a 25 door advent calendar full of a variety of beauty and skincare products (said to be the best in the industry) seems well worth it to me. You can also use the code beauty20 to get 20% off (at the time of posting).

The Body Shop - £65  (click here)
25 Days of the Enchanted Deluxe Advent Calendar

Next up is The Body Shop Calendar which is also a sell out every single year and it's called the 25 Days Of Enchantment Deluxe Advent Calendar. This one has 25 different boxes inside with a number of full size products inside ... it doesn't actually say if there are any mini's in this one so that would be a bonus if they're all full size. It also says the products are worth £121 and if you don't want to ruin the surprises then skip the list of products below!!

Products Included:

  • Shower Gel Peppermint Candy Cane 60ml
  • Body Butter Mango 50ml
  • Body Lotion White Musk® 60ml
  • Bunny Nail File
  • Shower Gel Strawberry 60ml
  • Bath Bubble Coconut 28g
  • Gentle Eye Make Up Remover Camomile 60ml
  • Bath Bomb Green Tea 28g
  • Hand Cream Almond Milk & Honey 30ml
  • Body Lotion Pink Grapefruit 30ml
  • Bath Lily Red
  • Eyeliner Liquid Black 3ml
  • Lip Definer Hot Date 1.1g
  • Body Scrub British Rose 50ml
  • Born Lippy™ Lip Balm Strawberry 10ml
  • Body Butter Almond Milk & Honey 50ml
  • Brow & Lash Brush & Comb
  • Hand Cream Shea 30ml
  • Eyelash Curler
  • Shower Gel Mango 60ml
  • Eye Definer Black 1.1g
  • Strawberry Smoothing Face Mist 60ml
  • Matte Lip Liquid Tahiti Hibiscus 8ml
  • Body Butter Coconut 200ml
  • Owl Face Towel

Revolution - NOW £30 (click here)

We're now moving down to the less pricey calendars with the Makeup Revolution one and it's one sale for £30 (at the time of posting) but was £50. This is a 25 door calendar with a range of beauty products inside, including highlighters, lip glosses, lipsticks, eye shadow palette, makeup brushes and more. I absolutely love Revolution products and I'm also tempted to buy this one too because the eye shadow palettes are particularly standing out to me. If you haven't already tried any of Revolutions products, I cannot recommend them enough to you. They're such incredible quality, have insane shade ranges and also they are drugstore priced too!!

Superdrug Bloom Collection - NOW £12 (click here)

Last, but not least, we have the Superdrug Bloom Collection Town House12 Days Perfume Calendar which is currently on sale for £12 (at the time of posting). This one is a little different to the other calendars in this post as this one has perfumes in it. This calendar has 12 doors all with an 8ml perfume sample which I personally think is a little pricey when it was fully priced at £24 ... however, now it's in the sale, I think it's the perfect opportunity to try out lots of new perfumes.

So, there we have a selection of the Beauty Advent Calendars on the market this Christmas. I hope you liked this style of post and maybe found the calendar that you will be having this year. Thankyou for taking the time to read this post and I'll see you in my next one!!

October Favourites!

First of all, I hope you all had a good Halloween. I just cannot get over how fast this year has gone by because seriously how is it November already?! As we’ve come to the end of yet another month, let’s go through some of my favourite products of the month.

Let’s just forget about saving the best till last because I’m way to excited not to blab about this first. A couple months back I spoke about the No.7 Youthful Facial Oil and it’s been a perfect addition to my skincare routine and makes my skin feel really hydrated and smooth all day. However, recently I started adding it to my everyday makeup routine and applying it between my moisturiser and my primer and it’s made my makeup application and the look of my makeup so much nicer and smoother. It gives such a natural glow to my skin rather than it being to powdery and matte and it even makes my makeup look better the longer I’m wearing it rather than the other way round. It just goes to show that you don’t need an expensive primer oil for it to do the job and I can not recommend you all to try it out enough.

Next up is the no.7 Bronzing Highlighter Stick. I have had this for quite a long time now but it always seemed a little too dark for my skin tone, however, as I go for of a bronze-y look and a gold highlight more often now, it seems to work really well now. This highlighting stick is really creamy and easy to blend ... it also doesn’t take away any of the product underneath e.g. foundation and concealer, when you’re applying it.

My next favourite for October is the Ariana Grande Sweet Like Candy Perfume. This perfume is like the perfect scent for me as it’s a mixture of Vanilla and Marshmallow so it has a really sweet scent to it. I also think that the scent is perfect for this time of year as well. I notice that a lot of perfumes I have don't seem to last that long and I have to keep spraying more but this one lasts all day and a little goes a long way too!!!

My last favourite for this month is the Sanctuary Spa White Lily and Damask Rose Body Lotion, which you've probably seen me mention this a while back on the blog, but I've recently started using it again. I love how hydrating this lotion is and the scent is incredible ... and it also stays on the skin all day too.

And there we have it, my favourites for the month of October, I'm sorry it was short and sweet but I haven't really been trying out new products for the majority of this month, however, I'm sure you'll see lots of new favourites from me next month. Thankyou so much for taking the time to read this post and I'll see you next time. But, for the meantime make sure you check out my previous upload if you haven't already had a read, by clicking here.

Until Next Time,

New in for October: Beauty Haul!

Hey there and welcome back to my blog. Throughout this month I picked up a few Beauty bits to try out and to restock on, so I thought I would share the bits I bought with you all as I know youse all seem to love a good haul. I hope you enjoy.

The first product that I picked up is the Revolution Brow Pomade in Graphite. I’ve been using the MAC Fluidline Brow Gelcreme for quite a while now but as I’ve nearly used it up, I thought I would try out a cheaper alternative. This one is much more of a cool brown shade and not as red toned as the MAC one which does give the appearance of more natural brows and I really love the way it’s been working for me. I can not recommend enough and it’s really well priced as well (I believe it’s £6).

Also from Revolution, I picked up the Brow Tint in Dark Brown and I was so excited to try this out. However, I wasn’t too happy with how this worked out. The front of my brows looked really blocky (if that’s the right way to explain it) and they looked so harsh. I don’t know whether I applied it wrong but I think I’ll stick to my usual tints in future. You can read all about my brow tints here.

I absolutely love Zoeva brushes and I’ve been wanting a new highlight brush for a while so I decided to get the 134 Luxe Powder Fusion. It’s actually the perfect size for when you want to apply to highlight in smaller areas like the top of the nose or you just want to put a little bit on your cheekbones and it’s been working much better than the fan brush that I was using as it can pick up more product too!!

I also picked up is the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation in the shade Ivory. I used this foundation quite a while ago and I remember it not suiting my skin very well, but I thought I’d try it again which I am so glad I did as it’s quickly snuck it’s way into my everyday makeup routine.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you would know that I absolutely love the Facial Sprays from Mario Badescu and after running out of both my Rose Water and Lavender one, I decided to try the Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea one and I’m excited to try this one out. These are perfect to rehydrate your skin, to use before or even after you’ve done your makeup instead of setting spray. If you haven’t tried these yet, you definitely should!!

I’ve been in need of a new eye cream for a while now and I wanted to try the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment, but I thought it was a little pricey and instead went for the Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream. This is so soothing and has really hydrated my eye area which is usually quite dry. Also Hyaluronic acid is really good for the skin so I know that my skin will really benefit from using it.

Last but not least, I picked up the Revolution PRO HD Smokey Eyeliner in Black. I’ve been getting really into using eyeliner on my water line recently, so I thought I’d pick up a new one. I do prefer browns on my water line but I thought I could use a black one in my collection anyway. I haven’t actually tried this out yet, but if I do like it I’m sure you will hear about it on my blog soon!!

Until Next Time,

Transitioning into Autumn: Autumnal Makeup Look! | Part 2/2.

Autumnal makeup is probably my favourite type of looks to create as I love warm and cozy colours with a vampy twist. I thought for today’s post, that I would share one of the looks that I have created so far this season and I absolutely love how it turned out.

I like to the keep the base quite simple and go all out for the eyes and lip so the products I used on my face include the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation, which is actually new to my collection and I have been loving using it as it gives a semi matte finish which I think is perfect for what I want in a foundation, particularly for this time of year. I then use the tiniest bit of the Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer in C3, under my eyes and on my chin. I then take my beauty blender and bake my under eyes with the NYX Banana Powder and apply it to my under eyes, my chin and the centre of my forehead to sort of bake with it. To set the rest of my face I just used a Natural Collection Pressed Powder and then bronzer up my face with my new go-to Benefit Hoola Lite.

After bronzing, I take more of the Banana Powder and use it to bake under my bronzer before I contour. I find that using translucent powders can create a white line under the contour but this seems to sharpen the contour without it looking to much of a sudden change in colour. I then take an angled contour brush with the NYX Taupe Blush and contour my nose and cheeks slightly. To highlight, I use the W7 Glowcomotion which is gold toned and is quickly becoming a go-to for this time of year as its super pigmented and glowy ... I’m actually obsessed.

For brows I decided to switch it up from my usual bold brows and use a pencil instead which is the Benefit Goof Proof in number 4 and obviously set it with my trusty Natural Collection Clear Mascara.

The Imogenation x Revolution Palette has been the palette that I've been reaching for since I bought it, as it is soo versatile meaning I can create lots of different look with it including more natural looks and bold ones too! To start off I took Pinky Promise and Imagine and blended them through the crease as my transition colours. I then took Mills and Sorry not Sorry on the outer corner and blended them through the crease. I then packed Pinky Promise onto my lids and placed Forever Friend on the inner corner. I finished off the eyes with the Soap & Glory Thick and Fast Mascara.

I’m always changing my mind about lip colour because there are so many autumnal ones I love, so I did include a few options including Whirl, Flat Out Fabulous, Ruby Woo and Party Line which are all from MAC. But for this look I chose Party Line as I thought it looked best.

Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation | Review!

Hey there and welcome back to my blog. If you’ve read my previous post then you would have seen that I have been using the new Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation and I thought I would share my thoughts on it with you all so that you can see if I think it’s good or not.

Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer Review (click here).

I have been obsessed with the Conceal & Define Concealer since they released it, so when I found out that they were making a foundation of it I was so ready to try it. I picked up the shade F2 because the palest shade is actually really pale and for reference I’m usually the shade Ivory in other Foundations. The packaging of the foundation is the same as the Concealer, but obviously is slightly bigger packaging and you get 30ml of product which is standard for foundations. As with the concealer, the foundation also has a dofer applicator which is also bigger. I love dofer applicators work really well for Foundations as you can easily spread the product on your face and the blend it in with a sponge or brush and it works for someone like me who hates washing makeup brushes as I’m not using a foundation brush haha!

The foundation itself works really well as it’s high coverage, without being cakey, it didn’t seem to cling to dry patches and it lasts really well through the day without looking oily. However, I did notice that when I used the foundation and concealer as a combo itdid look a little cakey so in the future I would use a lighter weight concealer or even not use one at all because it does have really good coverage by itself. I would say that it has a natural finish, not completely matte but also not entirely glowy and I would say to be careful if you have really dry skin because although this didn’t cling to my dry patches I think very well could do because of the finish. So I would recommend using a damp beauty blender to keep that moisture within the foundation.

Now let’s move onto the wear test. I applied my makeup at 6am and went to remove it at 6pm and as it had to stay on for a solid 12 hours I didn’t expect it to look great at the end of the day but I was SHOOK. The foundation looked pretty much the same when I first applied it as it did when I went to take it off. Aside from the fact that it got a little bit oily around my nose and on my chin, however every foundation does this due to my skin type so I wasn’t totally bothered by it. Also, although it was oily in those areas, it didn’t feel like it was coming off or sliding off my face (sounds gross but some products can few like this) but this still felt comfortable on the skin.

Overall I am very pleased with how this foundation performed and it definitely lived up to expectations. I really hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you soon with another one!

Revolution x Imogenation Eye Shadow Palette | Review & Swatches!

Hey there and welcome to today’s post which I have been so excited to write because this is a review on the new Revolution x Imogenation Eyeshadow Palette. As soon as I heard Revolution were going to be doing a collaboration with Imogenation, I was buzzing and couldn't wait to get my hands on it. If you have tried the contour and highlight palette from this collab, then please let me know your thoughts on it or link your blog post reviews in the comments below!

Now, let’s talk about the packaging because we all know that’s the first thing that draws me in to purchasing a new product. It’s a really cute ombré purple, with a pale pink on the bottom and inside and I think this packaging just screams Imogen and it gives me a unicorn kinda vibe.
With 20 shadows including a black, a white, neutral shades and a mixture of matte sand shimmers, the packaging is super thin and these all make it so perfect for travelling or anywhere even for MUA kits.

I'm really impressed with the pigmentation of the shadows as you only need one swipe of the brush in the product, the colour pay off is really good and the shadows come out really opaque. I think these shadows are very good quality for a £10 palette as they’re really soft and easy to blend. I will say that you will have to work a little bit with the shimmery shadows like Butterfly and Forever Friend if you want a completely opaque colour and you can achieve this by packing it on with your fingers or using some setting spray on your brushes and then packing it onto the lid.

This palette is super versatile as it has neutral shades, which are both warm and cool toned, the bottom two rows, particularly the bottom right 4 shadows, look like they’re going to be perfect for Autumn and the shades Butterfly and Forever Friend are really standing out to me and they look like they’re going to be perfect for cut creases or a pop of cover look.

Overall, I am very happy with this palette and I cannot wait to get using it and start creating lots of different looks with it. I had such high hopes for this palette as Revolution always kills it with their palettes ... well all of their products really ... as well as their collabs and this one did not disappoint. I will be sharing a makeup look using this palette soon, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for that, if you want to see what I create!

Milestones, Celebrating Numbers and Blogging for the wrong reasons. | ft Bloggers.

Just over a week a go, my blog hit 50,000 views, which is SO crazy to me and I cannot thank anyone whose ever clicked on and read my blog enough! I know numbers aren't everything and a lot of people look down on those that do celebrate numbers, but I think it's great to celebrate how far you've come and how well something you've put so much time and effort into is doing (!!!) Obviously a number on a screen isn't the be all and end all, but there's no harm in being proud of yourself for your Blog or YouTube Channel going in the right direction ... so I thought I would get some bloggers together and see what their opinions are and why celebrating numbers shouldn't be frowned upon & why it's something that should be celebrated.

Faye Jessica -

Celebrating numbers is great. All achievements that come from your blog should be celebrated because your effort has payed off! However focusing on numbers too much can show. It could stop the fun of blogging and cause you to lose the passion you once had. Therefore you should never push yourself too hard. But of course, celebrate when you reach your goals!

Mercydes Moore -

I don’t think it’s bad at all to celebrate numbers! As a blogger you work super hard on your content and writing material that you enjoy and that others will enjoy reading so when you hit certain numbers it makes you feel good and shows you that your viewers are enjoying your content.

Mia -

I think it’s important to set goals and to achieve them, don’t take the numbers too seriously but when you hit your goal it is an amazing feeling.

Alix -

In my opinion as a small blogger if you’ve worked extremely hard on your content then my question is why shouldn’t you celebrate numbers? Hitting a certain milestone big or small gives me more confidence to keep following my dreams. It’s also a very proud moment and you feel like you’ve achieved something! If people like my content then I feel like I’m doing a good job and it makes me want to keep going. I don’t get paid to do this I do it because I love doing it and hitting certain numbers makes me feel extremely proud of myself for doing it especially because I was so nervous in the beginning at what others would think! So yes I do think it’s good to celebrate numbers!

I just want to thank each blogger for sharing their thoughts on celebrating numbers when it comes to blogging and it looks like we all have similar opinions, as long as it's not the only thing you're looking at.

Also thankyou so much for reading this post, I hope you enjoyed it. I will be running a giveaway in my next post, so make sure you're there!!!

Until Next Time,
Luci ♡♡
