My Go-To Red Lips for the Festive Season!

Hey there and welcome to a new post on my blog, I hope you’re all well. For today’s post, I will be sharing my go-to red lipsticks for the festive season with you all. I don’t really change up my makeup routine that often, I’m always about the dark matte nudes, but when December rolls around I’m all about the red lips! So, for today’s post I thought I would share my top 3 favourite festive lipsticks with a mini review and swatches too.

My favourites include MAC – Ruby Woo, The Body Shop – Sydney Amaryllis and Rimmel Provocalips – Kiss me you fool!

The Body Shops Matte Lip Liquid in Sydney Amaryllis is quite a bright red and I’m such a big fan of The Body Shops products as they’re really well priced and are very good quality. This liquid lipstick lasts hours and hours on the lips, even through eating and drinking. I love the fact that this lipstick can double up as both a Summer and Winter lip … even a Spring lip too. I did write a full review post with swatches on the whole collection of these liquid lips so be sure to check that out if you want to hear all about them!

The Rimmel Provocalips in Kiss me you fool, is my second festive must have and it’s also another one of my lipsticks that doesn’t see the light of day until December rocks up! This one is a true red, not as bright as The Body Shop one, but also not as dark as the MAC one. I also love that it has the other side to the liquid lipstick that makes it shine, but it doesn’t make it gloss. So you get the lasting power of a matte lipstick and the hydration of a gloss  … I would really recommend this!

Finally, the lipstick that has Christmas written all over it, Ruby Woo by MAC and I’ve been using this on and off for three years now. This isn’t a colour I wear very often, so I probably should find a cheaper alternative so that I didn’t have to keep throwing out old, but barley used, ones! It is quite hard to put on because it’s soo matte, so I usually put a red lip liner on my lips first to help it go on easier … but once it’s on, it isn’t coming off haha! Although it’s very matte, I don’t find it at all drying on the lips, until the end of the day when I’m trying to take it offer and I’m scrubbing away at my lips. If you were to get this, I would recommend using Coconut Oil to remove it, other than makeup remover, as I’ve found that it comes straight off!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post, I really hope you enjoyed it. I would love to hear what some of your favourite festive lip products are in the comments below!
