Splurge + Save – Dupes!

Lets’ be honest … we don’t always want to be buying high-end, expensive products, when we can get the same or very similar products for over half the price! I’ve managed to gather a group of drugstore products that are almost identical to high-end branded products, all for under £10, so I thought I would share them all with you. And you never know, this may give you some ideas for some VERY last minute Christmas Presents!

W7 Honolulu Bronzer –

I’m sure you’ve all seen me mention this bronzer a number of times in previous blog posts, but I really love the way this looks on the skin. It is quite dark and pigmented, but this works well to use to either contour or to bronze up the skin and as it’s soo pigmented you only need to use the slightest bit so it lasts longer too! This bronzer is a really good dupe for Benefit Hoola … I would even say this is slightly better, one reasoon being because it’s cheaper, and another reason is because it doesn’t go patchy or muddy looking, which Hoola sometimes can. The W7 Bronzer is also super easy to blend out, so if you put a bit too much on, you can still make it work!!

Boots Double Sided Face Sponge –

I came across this sponge in Boots a while ago (you may have seen my haul here) and it looked so similar to the MAC double sided sponge, so I thought I’d pick it up to see if it was a good dupe. I have found this to work just as well as the MAC one, it seems to be a little easier to get hold of as I don’t have a MAC store in my town and it’s also half the price … I would really recommend. I use this to bake and clean up my contour and I’ve really been liking it.

Collection Velvet Kiss Lip Cream : Rosie –

I’m not sure if this actually counts as a dupe but this lip cream is a really good dupe for the NYX Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo. I have found these to be near enough identical to each other and the collection lip cream is just £2.99, with the NYX one being £6. I have also found both of these lip creams to be similar to the Rimmel Provocalips in Kiss Me You Fool.

Natural Collection Brow Tidy –

I always struggle to keep my brows in place, even with a brow gel, but I’ve noticed that this literally glues the hairs into place all day. This also works really well as a brow primer as the product you use on top doesn’t smudge or come off throughout the day either. I also use a brow gel to finish off the brows (I use the Natural Collection Clear Mascara) and they both work really well together. This Brow Tidy is a perfect dupe for the Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Primer, the only different I’ve noticed is that the Natural Collection one is a little bit softer, so needs sharpening more often …  but for £1.99 it’s still worth it!! (The ABH one is £18)

Revolution Obsession Solid Brush Cleaner (click here)-

Until I came across this in the shop a couple of weeks ago, I’d never seen this before but at the time I had run out of my Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser, so I decided I’d give it ago. I’ve found this to work just as well, if not better, than the BB one and for just under half the price at £8 (BB is £14) you get almost twice the amount of product which makes it even more of a bargain. Using this is super quick and easy, and it’s also a tidier way of doing it … it’s a win, win.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer –

After wanting to try this concealer for years, I finally picked it up to try it out and I’d heard soo many YouTubers and Bloggers say that it’s a really good dupe for the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer … so I thought I would try out the Nars one as well and see if this is true. I’ve found them both to have good coverage, easy to blend and don’t crease or look cakey. The only issue with the Maybelline Concealer is that they only have 3 shades (I believe, so don’t quote me on that one), and the lightest shade matches my skin tone so I can’t highlight with it!

Sleek Eyebrow Kit –

I’m sure you all know about this one, but I couldn’t not include it, and thats the Sleek Brow Kit which is a good dupe for the Benefit Brow Zing. I have been using the Sleek Brow Kit for soo many years, but when Benefit released their new brow products I just really wanted to try it. After using it, I’ve got to say, although it is really good quality and a really good product, it’s almost identical to the Sleek one, expect it’s almost 3 times the price. This is the perfect dupe, I really recommend it.

Collection Instant Brow Pomade –

Last, but not least, is the Collection Brow Pomade which I have found to be a good dupe for the Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Pomade. I think these are two of the best dupes, personally for me, however, the only thing I’m not so keep on, about the Collection one, is that it has a bit of a shimmer to the product which isn’t too noticeable … but I do use a little bit of brow powder over it to cover it up if it does look too noticeable.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, I really hope it helped you to find some bargains. Do you have any other dupes you think I should add to this post? Let me know in the comments below and I will see you soon with a new post!
