Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Finish Breathable Range – First Impressions!

Hiii lovelies and welcome to a new post on my blog where I will be reviewing the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr Breathable Range. Let’s be honest, I couldn’t not try out Rimmel’s latest range … but more importantly I couldn’t not share my opinions with all of you!! The Foundation and Concealer, from the Breathable range, both have medium coverage, but are lightweight … leaving your skin able to BREEAATTHHHEE!

I’ve always used Rimmel foundations because they’re really well priced and they’re incredible quality. For under £10 Rimmel Foundations are perfect for those who want to start building up a makeup collection! In the past, I have found that any foundations, other than those with sheer coverage, can be quite cakey … but the fact that you can have the best of both worlds, medium coverage yet lightweight, meaning you can cover up all your blemishes without looking cakey … uh YES please!!!

The consistency of the foundation is quite thin and very blendable … it reminds me a lot of the L’Oreal Nude Magique Eu De Teint Foundation. I am also LIVING for the applicator, it just makes it super easy to apply. I find that just two dips into the product work to cover the entire face well.

In Boots they had 13 shades of this foundation (there could be more in other stores) but I do think that the light shades aren’t pale enough. The lightest shade ‘Light Porcelain‘ was too pink toned for me but the second palest shade ‘Ivory‘ is too dark! Luckily because the foundation is quite thin and blendable it’s easy to make it work, but I do think they should have more shades!

I also found that the foundation did sink into the skin, which is good in one way because it looks like a second skin, but it does sink into any pore and creases/ fine lines; a good primer can help with this though!

Moving on to the Concealer … now this is my new favourite. The applicator makes it easy to apply the concealer directly to the areas and I did try to blend it in using it, which actually worked quite well … but nothing compared to the Beauty Blender which I found worked better. There are 6 shades in the concealer, which I think is pretty good and I picked up the lightest shade ‘Light Ivory‘. I’m actually shocked that even someone with fairly pale skin like myself, could actually find a concealer light enough for the high points on my face.

The Foundation and Concealer both claim to last for up to 25 hours, which I can’t comment on that because I didn’t leave it on that long … who would?! I ended up having the products on for 15 hours … which even after than long I just wanted to get it off. Throughout the day my skin did start to get slightly oily, which my skin always does, but it wasn’t too oily to the extent that I wanted … or needed … to take it off.

Final Verdict: ★★★★☆

I think that both these products work well, although I would say that the Concealer is slightly better than the foundation. I definitely will continue to use these and I feel like they work better as a pair rather than on their own.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this post, I really hope you enjoyed reading all about Rimmel’s newest range. Have you tried any of these products out yet? Let me know in the comments below and I will see you soon with a new post!

I love the original version of this foundation, this one sounds nice as well! I also wish they would expand their shade range. http://www.beautyfromkatie.blogspot.com
